oddshoes
Hi AllWell i have gone and done it.... I paid up on the membership so I am now a life long member of club lupo I started a newbie thread which is here - http://forums.clublu...showtopic=91717 I like to modify my cars some how and being in the JDM scene with MR2s for the past 6 years I thought that I would as have a DUB project too is that just greedy? lolOn the Wednesday 12th of September 2012 I went to look at this little Seat Arosa 1.0s as it seemed to tick the right boxes as I needed another car due to my girlfriend during September was going to be moving 300 miles away to go to uni in Falmouth for the next 3 years and traveling down to she her every other week my MR2 Turbo was going cost about £150 in petrol each time, not to mention I needed more space to help bring her stuff down too as well as her 1.0 Citroen AX. Unfortantly I got to the Seat dealership in St Albans a little late so had a quick look at the car and arrange to come back at 9am the next day for a test drive and if everything seemed got we could come to a deal on it and I would take it away. This was the first pic I took of the carAs you can see it's quite a clean looking motor. On Thursday morning I got to the garage and we went for a quick test drive and I was happy and we cam to a deal of £800 and the car was mine so with a quick change of insurance I drove the car away but to my amazement the car has every MOT since its needed at and lots of paperwork from Seat dealerships for anything that was needed and with only 72K on the clock what a bargain With the the looming journey to Falmouth University from Hemel Hempstead coming on Saturday morning the rear seats had the head rests pulled out and the backs where put down flat and the car loaded up with boxes and stuff, we set off on the Saturday morning at 8.30am and she drove lovely all the way down there until 10 miles just shy of the university when it seemed my clutch had gone some where! After helping to unload her stuff and saying good bye it was time to get back in the car and drive back which was going to be fun, so I left at 8.50pm for the sloop back to where I live in Hertfordshire.I had to stop on the way home and have some sleep or i would of made it, but when I got back apart from the gear issues which after research and actually having a look under the dash it turns out its the pedal box that has broken... should be a simple fix butnot bad to about to about £70 worth of petrol and done in just under 25 hours from start to finish. This thread will be for a log of what I have done, planing to do and what is needed for my little Arosa and hopefully she will turn in to something very nice and I will also get a chance get to know you all and hopefully even meet you at some point as I will try to make meets and events if I can.The plan at the moment it fix the pedal box,Service the car sparks, oil and filters,Cambelt and water pump change andCoilovers (been pointed to a set of JOM coilvers but a friend who had a mk3 golf estate)with the help of this forum guides and threads I shall be undertaking most if not all the work myself Dave
oddshoes
Well after ordering up the pedal box from Seat the other day I started at 11am this morning to strip it out and wow i must say frustrating or what as i am not the smallest man in the world but after alot of swearing and thinking i managed to get it out at 4.30pm and........... i got the wrong part , i need the one that has a electronic device of some sort bolted to it! So i guess that i will be phoning tomorrow for the correct one and hopefully installing it Tuesday or Wednesday then, I think i will a new brake pedal and the white clip. I managed to get mine out fine but it is still on the brake servoDave

oddshoes
The plan is to get a set of coilovers and the JOM's seem to be a good deal but that will be next month as I have my brothers Stag do and wedding this month and i am the best man so funds tired up this month The pedal box was a PITA to get out and after figuring out if I took out the speedo so i could get more angle on the steering coloumn to remove it nearly 6 hours later i found out that they sent me the wrong one... argh. The new one was ment to be here today but there was a problem sending it out so will be here tomorrow and then i will fit it then and have my little Arosa back
