The blue lupo on black wheels, think I saw that on eBay for sale

Yeah i think it's been up for a while, i can't understand why it hasn't sold unless it's just up for too much cash. I'd have probably bought it back if i hadn't got the GTI.

My first car - my little 1.0l Arosa, loved the car but never did any modifications to it although it had potential!

Then after 12months I sold it and got the same money back to buy my Up! :)

Not had many as although I'm an old git I didn't pass my test til I was 25

2005 - Ford Fiesta Mk3 1L - wouldn't have one now, but a great first car

2005 - Citroen AX 950cc - actually surprisingly awesome, pretty bloody nippy if there was no more than 2 people in the car & no steep hills :lol: Gearbox was amazing, short throw stick & really smooth. And pockets in the doors just the right size for a bottle of wine - French design at its best :lol:

2006 - Renault Clio Mk4 1.4 - AKA 'the french piece of ****', hated it, seats were really uncomfortable & hurt my back - my Lupo is better for my back & it's on its arse! Understeered like a bitch. Only kept it for so long as we were stuck with the finance.

2011 - VW Lupo 1.4 S - now we're talking, my first dub, fell in love. Proper go kart driving again, like the AX. Ended up with whitewalls & loads of custom vinyl. Sold to fund....

2012 - VW Lupo 1.4 Sport - the current hwip, decked & bombed :thumbsup:

Pretty limited in my case:

started with a 106, great little runner. Would still be running today if some idiot hadn't run into the back of it at 60mph.

moved onto vw lupo, great car... period! :D

When stationary?

You wouldnt survive that in a 106

Honestly bud, I'll find the photos when I can, she was in a fairly modern Vauxhall and she was certainly going fast.

To be fair, I say 60mph because that was the speed of the road but I assume at some point she might have slowed down, even though she was clearly not paying attention. That said, she didn't appear to slow down much when she smashed into the back of me. Certainly didn't feel like it either!

106s are actually solid :P my mate (in a c2) drove into one of my other mates (in a 1992 106) the 106 lost some bumper paint. The c2 was 1000 worth of damage..

Oh her car was a real mess, total write off, aside from things like seats, maybe some of the dash etc, I doubt there was much they could save elsewhere (nothing from the engine, body or chassis I reckon) and yet I'd say a lot of the 106 was still salvageable but I don't know if they are allowed to under the category crash system. If a certain amount of damage has been done, they are legally required to crush the car don't they ? I don't know exactly but I hope some of it was salvaged as it was a great car and the engine was in mint condition, I hadn't modified it at all and it only had 70k miles. Drove beautifully to be honest, especially for a cheap car. The funny part was, after the crash I could see she'd hit her head and was dazing so I jumped out the car to check if she was okay. When I got back in the 106 about 5 minutes later, despite being slammed in the back and being thrown down the road (not literally but there was a fair trail of mess behind my car because I moved quite a long way), the engine was still running lol!! It wasn't really driveable because the chassis was totally warped, but I reckon lumped in a new chassis, that 106 engine would be fine. Plus it had really nice seats and what not.

Good post, always interesting to see how people have progressed up the motoring ladder! Here's a selection from my archive...

First car (I know it doesn't look much but it was a good reliable car)!

Jetta2.jpg

Then about 6 months into my first paid job with the money burning a hole I bought myself a Golf GTI,

Had a few problems in 3 years but it ended up like this;

E566.jpg

Traded up for a run out Mk2 16v, I can't find any pictures but it was like this one apart from single headlight de-badged grille and lowered;

Mk216v.jpg

Kept that for 6 years of trouble free motoring then fancied a change;

100_0814.jpg

Only had this for 2 years due to moving house and that also meant a stop gap motor (Laguna - another 3 years of trouble free motoring tho).

Had this as a toy along the way (now sold);

ssaug2.jpg

ssaug1.jpg

And this is my current daily;

530-1.jpg

And for those of us from an older generation last but not least, my oldest but still owned to this day (been in the family since 1979);

Wow, love the Rapier. My Dad had a MK3 or MK4 back in the late '60s.

I used to love it!

Thanks, I have grown up with this car and can't see us ever being parted!! I have been doing some resto work on the old girl, she's not been on the road since 2006, hopefully back for the 2013 show season. There is a resto thread over on the owners club website that you may be interested.
