Car history, lets see yours!

I've had a look to see if there's a similar thread around so apologies if this is a repeat! Most forums tend to have a car history thread so here's mine (well, the cars I have pics of anyway!)

My first car, way back in 1996 was this awesome MG Metro 1300. So cool to have this at 17!:

STA70084.jpg

This was closely followed by such modern classics as a Mk3 Escort 1300L and a Mk2 Astra SRi 1800 (my first real fast car, susequently stolen and written off!). The Astra was reluctantly replaced by a rubbish but insurance friendly Citroen ZX 1.4 and after that a Rover 216. The Rover started an interest in that marque being followed by an MG ZS 120, one of the best handling cars I've had thanks to It's Integra based suspension set up:

NEWCAR001.jpg

The 120 was replaced by a 180 V6 which sounded awesome but wasn't as quick as I hoped it would be:

STA70480.jpg

After the 180 was t-boned at a roundabout, it was repaired but never felt the same. It was then that I bit the bullet and went JDM with this frankly awesome DC5 Integra Type-R, easily the best car I've owned with it's amazing 220bhp VTEC lump:

STA70527.jpg

Whilst I had the DC5, marriage and fatherhood came along so a sensible car was needed (well, it was a 5 door if not sensible) with my first VAG, a Leon Cupra R 210:

DSCF1062.jpg

The Leon's running costs started to bite though so we went out and bought a T4 Kombi which I ran as a day van for a few years:

DSCF1911.jpg

Whilst we had the T4, a couple of nice Mk2 Golfs and a Polo Coupe passed through our hands as second/project cars:

DSCF1962.jpg

IMGP0705.jpg

Which brings us bang up to date with my nicely frugal but very standard Bora TDI 130 work horse and my wife's Lupo 1.0:

Sorry if that was really boring and pic heavy but now it's your turn!

Very interesting bud which out of all your cars do you feel most attatched to? And how does the build quality compare between the Hondas/mgs and volkswagens?

I'd say I'm still really attached to the T4 to be honest. Mainly out of all the hours I put into turning it from a rattly old AA recovery truck into a respectable family wagon!

Honda build quality, I feel, was on par with VW. MG/Rover? err, not quite so!

Started with a 205 1.8 diesel for my first car at 16... sold this and made a profit which got me a minter! again another 205 diesel unfortunately i ruined it.

162954_124480677614477_4098662_n.jpg

I then got myself a 306 Dturbo which was another minter. one of the best cars iv had! it was untouched!

222377_1013981879812_2240_n.jpg

231192_1013981799810_1517_n.jpg

I then treated myself to a 205 Gti toy whilst i used the 306 as a daily... I had an accident in the snow and the 306 was gone :( minor damage but because it needed a little bit of paint they wrote it off due to the value of the car. i really was gutted!

2071_119067565522_4774_n.jpg

I decided to put the 205 Gti on the road and use it as a daily. I had finally done all the work i wanted to it so thought it was a good idea. it wasnt lol. it was too loud, uncomfy, awful on fuel, attracted too much attention etc etc etc... so i got the lupo and have never looked back. The lupo has been my longest serving car of almost 3 years.

The LCR was great but when you've got a baby, rent, bills and only 1 wage coming in, the insurance, fuel bills and road tax really sting! I bought it with my heart and not head to be honest, and paid the price! I thoroughly recommend them though, fantastic cars if you can justify the costs.

Started off with my 1.0 Arosa, fantastic car I had for 2 trouble free years

DSC00410.jpg

The family then emigrated to Australia albeit for only 6 months due to unforseen circumstances, but this meant that at age 19 I was the owner of a 4.0 straight six RWD Ford Falcon XR6. Was pretty chuffed.

Back to reality with the UK fuel prices meant the Loop Sport. But i'm still loving the little go kart

Here's mine.

Started off with a mk1 driver which then got a 1.8 on twin webers in it.

Ended up like this.

driver_garage_front003-1.jpg

Then i got a mk1 cab to use while the driver was getting some bits and bobs done.

Started like this

Currently looks like this

Then i got the Lupo Sport, here it is brand new at the dealers!

mynewlupo1.jpg

Ended up like this after 6 years of ownership.

IMG_2460_copy_small.jpg

Had this mk2 16v which donated parts for the cab.

IMG_8360_copy_small.jpg

Then had this Polo TDi for a year and a half, did nothing apart from a revo map to 145/225

_MG_1140_copy_small.jpg

Then Foxy offered me his Lupo for a decent price so thought it was time to return to something a bit more fun!

Currently looks like this
