Deadmetal Posted May 22, 2012 Report Share Posted May 22, 2012 As above, google search says that a red oil light on a vw means low pressure.Need to get it checked as soon as otherwise you could ruin the engine if it the pressure and not just a dodgey sensor. MikeW Posted May 23, 2012 Report Share Posted May 23, 2012 Had this happen recently with the red flashing light, i had a look and found oil pouring out if the oil pressure sensor switch. I had the part replaced and it is now fine. I think the new switch was £15.
