VW Lupo dipped beam isn't working but full beam and side lights are?

Hi dude,

You will prob find its a twin filament hi/lo bulb n the dipped beam has broken, when you hit the head light the broken filament bridges and works.....sort of! Replace the bulb n everything should be good!

Could be the headlight switch or 2nd post suggests a possible loose connection somewhere at the headlight end did you hit one & both came on?

It is indeed a twin filament bulb, however the chances of having two different bulbs developing the same fault at the same time is very slim indeed.

Do your sidelights work OP?

Sorry i misread it thought it was one bulb! check your fuses and conector on the rear of the bulb mate! if both are ok its prob the switch :)

check the wiring block that plugs into the bulb, mine had melted and caused similar problems, a cheap universal replacement from flea bay sorted it

Did you get you grubby fingers on the glass of the bulb? because the oil from your skin causes hotspots on the glass and causes the bulbs to blow!
