ice cool
to be honest i dont know.at the moment they just want confimation of who was driving at the time of the offence ( girlfriend also insured).i was hoping to get away with a begging letter, `3-6` points and a bloody fine
Crusoe
Did you know you had been flashed and that you were there when it was taken. has to arrive within two weeks of the offence so make sure the dates are okay as well. If your unsure it might be worth getting the pictures from the police and seeing if you can make it out clearly and that the distance measured matches the speed clocked. A few loop holes out there if you really needed to fight it but easier to take the points if you've got enough spare.
ice cool
result! went to police office in my lunch to get confirmation it was my car on the photos. unfortunately for plod, the camera only took one pic so they couldnt verify the recorded speed.dropped due to lack of evidence.yipeee. beer monsta
very lucky indeed - although I must say that you did deserve the ticket as speeding in a 30/40 limit is a `no-no` and I do hope it makes you think twice.Under proposed new legislation for that speed in a 30 you could be looking at 6 points plus....... ice cool
point taken. In my defence i would say that up until 2 months prior, the road had been a fifty limit. Big straight road, no schools or residential areas in about a half mile radius, but rules be rules.
bossjohnc
hmmm... I got double flashed doing 50 in a 50 last night - I'll have to watch out and see if I get any letters.
MattyB
You should never pay a fine without asking to see the evidence. In 90% of cases, people would have payed that fine without asking for the evidence and getting 3 points off the back of it. And becareful of local authorities using the wrong legislation to drop speed limits - loads of "incorrect" 30 limits about, apparently. bossjohnc
Tell me about it.Near me there's a 30mph very wide dual carriageway, well lit, motorway impact barriers, no houses, no schools. 30mph feels stupidly slow, yet the police are camped out there every other day filling their quota.
