sub not as loud as before - help

Recommended Posts

hi, just taken the sub out of my mates car and put it in mine.

He wanted to keep the wiring so we sort of made a homemade kit.

for the power we used a really thick gauge stiff copper wire, the sort you use in wiring sockets in the house.

my question is do you think its the heavy gauge wiring which is causing it to be quiter and less punchy than in my mates car?

thanks

house hold 2.5mil 'twin and earth' is not heavy gauge and has been made for wiring sockets etc.. Maybe best for someone in the audio world to shed some light but my sparky skills say it wont be suitable. I wouldnt wire a customers surround sound in lighting cable for example. Jp

It might be few things,

Is it the same head unit ? If different that where your loose of power might come from,

second thing mate go to Halfords and get a wiring vibe slick set up to 1500 watt - £19,99, or above up to 2500 watt - £29,99,

Make sure you have got a good earth, also try original albums not burned cd's sometimes there is no base in them.

Any more trouble give me shout :)

Thanks
