Yip I actually did. I had made a shortlist. Evo9, supra, skyline, rx7 or s15.

Evo and s15 where too expensive. Supra looks a bit too old.

And the only difference between skyline and rx7 was that rx7 tax was cheaper.

lol. Got lucky then as they are not all registered as 1.3's.

Did you factor in the cost of engine rebuilds, oil and back handers to the MOT tester for when it didn't pass the emissions test. :)

Yeah some are reg as 2.6. The one I went for came with 1 year engine warranty. 1 year road tax and MOT. I got a good deal. Prob the best car I have bought. Only bad thing is fuel consumption. Bt I guess skyline would be prob the same.

I would get(or will probably get) a 2003 S3, 70K on the clock with RS4 rims £6.5k ish or more for a really good one.

A mate of mine got an 05 3.2 DSG S-Line for just over 7k before xmas, would prefer one of those to the previous gen S3 I think.

fabia vrs could pick up a low mileage example with a couple of grand to spare on mods :)

You could, but if you left the house with 8 grand and came back with a 7 year old Skoda Im not sure anyone would be impressed
