So Koop as we're nearly 4 months into this year, what happened to "next year's wheels"?? ;)

Next (now this) summer's wheels silly ;)

Funny you should ask, I've had a test fit on me lunch today...

Adaptor on.

Pretty flush, should look tidy.

Arch gap. lol.

Some horrid scratches she's picked up being parked in the lovely Crewe :(

cnutbags.

Seeing all these peugeots and whatnot with red mirrors has inspired me to go for a it-could-have-been-a-special-edition OEM+ type look for the loop. The Wolfsburg edition plate surrounds may make their way onto it after all. Yes I am getting old & boring. It should still look nuff silly though. Soooo with that in mind I have a couple of new bits of s****y leather trim, here's the first one I've fitted...

Looked better in the pics on eGay  Need to have a fiddle to get it sitting right. Pretty s****y though. Got one for the handbrake too, and I've ordered some samples for door card & headliner retrim.

And to finish on a high here's some pic from when it was all shiny end of last week.

Guess so. tw@s.

One quick fag break later & the handbrake gaiter thingy is fitted.

It's pretty snug, it took some death getting it on  When it's a bit worn & the red isn't quite so bright it should complement the gear gaiter & steering wheel very well.

Not bad.

IMAG1890_zps725c5ac1.jpg

Poke. Haha.

IMAG1888_zps2ab74787.jpg

Bit of room at the back though...

IMAG1889_zps41e18be0.jpg

...so I might be able to move it back & just drill a couple of new holes in the fascia adaptor.

Not sure whether to paint the fascia adaptor too. Hmmm.

Mrs Koop's 6n2's looking a bit tidier thanks to a new set of Team Heko wind deflectors - 25 squid posted off egay, bargain.

  • 2 weeks later...

Another cocking wing mirror smashed, on the Loop this time. Getting pretty bored of living in Crewe with its **** drivers who don't give a flying **** about anyone else. Grrrrr.

Not much happening with the loop, still need to get all my wheel bolts together

The Polo's had 2 new brake cylinders though, zorst's blowing like buggery so it'll want a bit o' welding soon.

Well scotty will be pleased, the stickerbombed wheels are no more

Sold them to a local lad with a red 6n2 so they should go well & I might get to see them about which is nice :D

Wheel bolts will be ordered by the end of the week, hopefully get the new rims on next weekend, finally. Still need to finish painting interior bits & I haven't found the right cloth to retrim me door cards an' that yet.

Mrs Koop's minty fresh motor's going for a flexi & some welding next week. She passed her driving test this morning though woohoo :D

Thought I'd finish painting the centre console with the good weather this weekend.

Dog had other ideas.

IMAG1998_zps383f46f6.jpg

Tw@.

I've just realised as I'm typing this that I can stick the knackered one in while I paint the one that's currently in the car, genius. Anyway I cracked on with the side vents which are a bit of an arse as I've been trying to keep the definition on the 0 & the little fella so I've been keeping the paint fairly thin on them, this meant I went through to the primer on the symbols when I keyed them up though so they had to get another few coats of black, d'oh! Not sure whether to pick the symbols out in white before I lacquer em for OEMyness, hmmm.
