kumadot Posted September 22, 2011 Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 hello all! i hope you can help me ... i own a vw lupo sport and last week it started making a rather peculiar noise. the only thing i can compare it to is a catching wheel. we got a mechanic friend to look at it and he thought it was the clutch, however his boss thought it was the gearbox. it is not constant and seems to be more when you accellerate and if you hold the clutch down you can hear it spinning.i dont want to invest in a new gearbox if this guy is a cowboy as they are blumming expensive and wondered if anyone has come acoss this noise before?also if it is the gearbox... any tips on where to get a decent one cheap?cheers in advance ,donna x Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
