With the weather being so good, it's given us the chance to get the cars show ready for the weekend :D

The 3 cars are heading down to Biggar for the Volksfling show Friday-Sunday, on stand with ScottishVag.

Will upload more pictures throughout the week

Went down to Biggar at the weekend for the Volksfling show. Shame there wasn't an official VAG stand so we just parked up at the tent instead, seemed that the majority of people were doing that :-P

Here's some more pictures of the week before getting the cars ready and then some with them at the show

Been away working for the Olympics and Paralympics in London over the summer so sadly my wee Arosa was left in the driveway for 3 months :(

But now i'm back with some spending money and feel the need to treat it

Ideas for now are Upper and Lower Strut braces for the front and Lower Strut braces for the rear, set of Coilovers to go with my APEX Springs and 10mm Spacers for the rear

Suggestions are welcome to what make and or site to buy from as well as any second hand items that you want rid of :tongueout:

Cheers, Mark

Horrible conditions on the road these days, can't drive anywhere without getting salt and general s h i t e sprayed up the sides and back :( thankful the good wheels are off the car the now :)

Thankfully managed to find enough time to give it a proper wash, even if it is sometimes after midnight :P

Took a few weekends off work to head up north to the slopes at Glencoe with my girlfriend
Absolutely brilliant boarding conditions up there and the car handles the road so well. :swerve:
Managed to fit my board and her skiis in the back as well which was surprising

Other update is that I finally managed to get round to turning the airbag light off after fitting my momo steering wheel, was a piece of piss as soon as I found a resistor small enough

Been toying over the idea of getting a second remote key, so decided to just go for it since I have a bit of spare money lying about

Local stealers wanted £150 for the cut key then £38 to program it!! so thought I would have a go myself.

Bought a 3 button flip key off eBay for about £35, got the key cut eventually for £10 (Timpson and several other companies wouldn't touch the key for 'insurance purposes' and other excuses - bottom line they want you to buy the key from them!)

After reading the guides on here and other sites, the procedure seemed easy just using the drivers side door and other key in the ignition. BUTTT..... after a few failed attempts I plugged my laptop in to discover that my car was pre-programmed to only accept 1 remote key :(

I have now bought the registered version of VCDS/VAGCOM, just need to wait for it to arrive (hopefully tonight) and I'll have another go and update here with pictures if i'm successful

Lovely car.

When you changed your front speakers, did you mounted the old ones in the back? Are the rear holes the same size?

I did originally, but then changed them to the same Kenwood set I have in the front :)

The holes didn't quite line up perfectly, so i'm not sure of the size, but I can have a look tonight and let you know

Well, since the front ones fitted, I'm sure it works. How did you sorted the rear "door" cards, drilled them?

Lined up the grill on the front of the door card and cut them out with a stanley knife. Then bent the mesh round the edges and used black sealant to keep them in place

Was quite tricky though, cause the card is indented at an angle so takes a bit of patience :tongueout:

Has anyone ever tried to find, or know where the antenna cable is for the remote locking?

Had a look under the drivers side dash at the weekend, but without any reference I can't determine which cable it is :(

Thanks

Finally got round to adding trim to the back of my rear seats and to the housing of the rear passenger shock. Not entirely sure why that bit was missing, but it was getting scratched from either my bike or board :(

Trip to the local scrap yard - picked up some carpet out of two mk4 golfs, perfect match in colour and texture

Boot finally fully carpeted - the way it should be in the first place imo

After adding front and rear footwell led's, I got a bit carried away and decided to add a little light to the boot (since it's so big and hard to see everything in it  )

Was going to try and add a switch for the boot opening, but would be too much hassle running the cables so opted for a manual switch instead :) The light comes from 2 led strips, one each under the plastic panels on either side of the boot.

Hope you like

Spend the weekend in the garage working under the bonnet this weekend. My mates chipped in and bought me a BMC CDA for my birthday, so it obviously had to be fitted as soon as :shifty: It sounds deeper when accelerating and I have noticed a slight difference in the torque at the lower revs, also compliments the noise from the scorpion exhaust!

While fitting the CDA, I decided that the engine bay would look better with some colour so decided to spray the engine cover body colour :)

Just need to wait on the oil breather coming and then it will be another job done

Comments welcome as always
