PumKa
Hey,Joined up along time ago, when i was originally looking for a Fox, but never got one in the end. Well recently i sold my Ka and got this Fox!Heres a little detail on the Ka, looking to go the same route with the Fox.Had a 6 Page feature in Performance Ford, another in Fast Ford mag. It in Performance Ford this month aswell, it was a very very well known car, but i had it for 3 years this month, so time to go! A new project to start, went for a Fox as noones really done one, same with the Ka, thats why it got noticed!Heres a few pics just for record 1.7 16v Puma Racing Conversion, 155bhp, 0-60 - 7.3It had fully flocked dash, engine cover. Escort Cosworth Brakes, Focus Rs rear discs, full cossie leather. So, now time for the Fox's turn!Bought it Cat C, got damage to the bonnet, wing and bumper, so all bolt on bits, bought it because it was a decent colour compared to the range! Also it was a 1.4, and and Urban, so got all the goodies, got a new front bumper going on just waiting for it to be finished smoothing, What ive got alreay, Fk Adapters, 17" Porsche twistsGerman import spoilerDone all the badges black, de striped etc.. while i wait for the boot to go in for smoothing,Golf Gti Mk5 Steering wheel, (no pics yet)Took the stereo out of the Ka (hit 142.3db) thats going in the Fox,Thats about it for the minute, Just waiting for the adapters to come through the post and the wheels can go on!Waiting for coilovers aswell, Heres some pics, some of the first day when i picked it up and the day after,I just cant beleive how high it is! Need some slammage Wheels i bought,Looking at Porsche brakes, anyone got any idea how to make that work? Im all new to this VAG stuff But being 5x100 TT225 Brakes shouldnt be too hard to fit? Also, same as a Mk7 Polo engine i believe? So the 1.8T out of one of them shouldnt be too hard of a conversion? Vw's all seem to go by engine codes, wereas in a Ford you could make practically anything fit haha, Lemme know what you all think, and look foward to getting to know you all!Cheers,Harry, Edited June 27, 2011 by PumKa

marcusgrant
i hope you make this a good car, been many readers rides started on foxes but never go anywhere! as for the engine conversion...i would imagine it being far far from easy! take the whole wiring loom from the polo and put it in the fox lol
jamiea7x
shall keep up with this one, as mentioned before no one has really properly attempted a fox theres been a few started and they all dried up..as for that ka looks sweet, would have had skinnier tyre in my eyes but im guessing it was more for go than show
Rich
it has a polo 9n engine bay.A 1.8T from a 9n3 wouldn't be too hard to pull off using oem parts.Still, your big challenge is making the dash look respectable.
fatty
I often wonder why there's not more well done Foxes. Looking forward to seeing this progress.
PumKa
Hey,Yerh on the Ka, couldnt really go for anymore stretch, wernt really that drivable with them tyres and that much power in the first place!Picking up the Porsche wheels up Friday now, waiting for the adapters to come through the post aswell. Also what would be the best coilovers? On the old Fords we used Ap's, they went down 75mm, Hmm, i know the conversion wouldnt be 'easy' but it shouldt be too hard if the Fox is based on a 9n Polo, is it a case of changing the engine loom, ecu, engine and box?Just thinking something a whole lot easier to do than the Ka, that was all custom mounts, engine was shifted over to the left as much as posible to fit the Puma box in, still wouldnt fit so a hybrid box was made,Loom was made from scratch, was running 2 ECUs at first, slam panel was cut out to fit the manifold in and the bonnet was also cut out to clear the manifold. So im just looking for a easier option Will get more pics up when the wheels go on, bumpers and boot are smoothed!Cheers for the interest!Harry,
