(son)
Hi its a long shot but is it possible to put a small turbo on a 1.0 litre engine? Thanks
Defcon5
Yes. Not worth the effort/expense though
(son)
Y not?
Defcon5
Because it will cost thousands, and you will end up with 90bhp
Liam-R
Get a charade GTti if you want to do that... And defcon if you spend thousands you'll probably get about 160 from the engine with forged pistons, rods and fuel management. My friend georg from Netherlands has recently got 261hp from his 993cc 3 cyl engine. Didn't cost him thousands but it's a real skill to be able to get that much power from such a small engine
(son)
where would i begin to get it like that?
karting
You will need.ManifoldTurboIntercoolerEcuGaugesBetter brakesFprAll above for little gain. Its pointless, plus it will blow up.Gearbox and clutch will also be needed, as the ratios will be all wrong.Does a 1litre even have enough puff to spool it up? LolGet a punto turbo for a small cheap turbo car
karting
You will need.ManifoldTurboIntercoolerEcuGaugesBetter brakesFprThat also not includin any custom work needed to make it fit kn the bay, plus oil pick up linesAll above for little gain. dj_lupz
Never hurd of some one refusing to buy a italian car lmao. But back to the point, why would you want to turbo a 1.0.Pointless in my opinion. might as well sell up and by a faster car if thats what you want would be cheaper than a turbo and less hassle. Pete
And VW gearboxes are made of chocolate, the jap cars can take the punishment, but I doubt the lupo block would stand it, the 1.3 glanza turbo's can take 450bhp+. Just be happy with it as it is, or save up for a 1.8 conversion.
JoeA
Awaits a load of hypocritical non-Fiat drivers to give you a roasting Theyre not bad motors but all my mates with fiats lose parts of their car on every journey and yes lots of people with tidy GTIs will now probably kick off, but when asked if theyd swap for a punto i know what theyd say! karting
I had a punto turbo in white with full leather, tuned and everything included. Was the best car i ever owned. Totally regret selling it, enquired about buying it back last year and it was scrapped due to a fire.Fire was ultimatly down to the aftermark fpr i fitted, but shh dont tell anyone.
