... but I finally killed it.

Earlier Friday night.

Coming home from the meet down the A689 heading towards Greatham out of Hartlepool, at a rather pathetic 60-70mph (I expected to kill this at warp factor 10) a combination of a lost of dust on the road, and a lot of cars, meant I hit what appeared to be a breeze block in the road. Big bang and car slouched onto it's side. Managed to slow it down and pull it into a layby... burst tyre I think.

Okay not too bad. Now check out the camber on the front wheel...

Fire brigade turn up to clear up the diesel, same block ripped the fuel cooler off my mates mk4

So I get the car home and have another look, the sill has been folded under the car, ripped the wing apart at the bottom and ruined the floorpan. It gets better though... I take it to get 2 tyres and tracking the next day, that camber proves to be a nice 4.5 degrees. No obvious bent suspension bar the strut... managed to get it to about 2 degrees so it can drive okayish. Then we notice the ABS sensor and wiring has been ripped out.

So the total damage you ask, well, it needs a new sill, new wing, ABS sensor and wiring, new strut, new wheel and I needed a new tyre obviously. I do think structurally it's damaged, under hard acceleration and braking it pulls to the right. Obviously, it'll cost much more to fix than it's worth. I'm still going to bring it to Dub Mania, I have no choice, but a bit gutted a ****ing breeze block seemed to kill my car.

Moral of the story, don't hit stuff in low cars. Luckily I managed to avoid hitting it square on, or it would be bye bye VR6 engine.
