jordan turner Posted March 14, 2011 Report Share Posted March 14, 2011 car idles at about 500 when cold and 700-800 when warm and also does not have any power past 4,000 rpm the car seems to struggle and stops accelerating checked my timing belt earlier there was some rubber residue in the cover and the belt was quite loose, could my timing be out, and if this is the reason how much is it to get my timing done or if anyone knows how, would you do it for me and i pay you for your service ?im based in stafford st18 would much apreciate any help anyone can give me thankyou. Don't even start the engine cause if you end up damaging the piston there will be a serious loss of compression if not all in that particular piston. And then it's a costy job! lunalupi Posted March 15, 2011 Report Share Posted March 15, 2011 Any garage - don't risk driving it, it may be fine now but if it is the timing belt and it goes you'll be looking at some big damage to the engine internals!They can take a look and advise.
