seat_arosa1.4 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Share Posted February 3, 2011 hi ive just bought a seat arosa 1.4 mpi in white nice car just a few problems it doesnt start on key but does when bumped, when key is turned a click can be heared then a drone sound then nothing all lights windows ect work was told it was starter motor not engaging so bout a starter motor from the breakers yard would be much apriciated if anyone could help or send me a link to a how to? cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cooper_GTI Posted February 10, 2011 Report Share Posted February 10, 2011 Theres only 2 bolts that hold it in.Its on the front of the gearbox on the right hand side of the engine bay as you look at it.Remove the 2 13mm nuts (top one holds main power cable, bottom one holds a bracket).Then unplug the black plug from the starter (its the signal wire).Now undo the 2 big bolts that hold the starter on (16mm maybe?).You have to do the bottom bolt from underneath im afraid.And to get out the top bolt you have to wiggle the gear linkage around in order for it to clear it, cus the bolts are about 4-5" long.
