Courtesy Car - I have one...

My lupo just went in to have it's spoiler resprayed as it was bubbling around the edges (warranty job).

I now have the most unloved, dented, scratched, untidy, shameful excuse for a 1.0l lupo sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

It's sad to see them in this state really - esp. when they can look so nice if you keep them well and treat them to a few bits! (e.g. Tigz's).

Roll on Friday when I get my GTi back - I miss it already!!

Give him a chance to practice his full bore starts though, not your tyres after all biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> and it's the only way you can get away from the lights faster than a push bike hehe

A few weeks back some buffoon scratched his signature along my bonnet. Gutted I was. Well I decided to get the whole bonnet and the front bumper/spoiler (due to stone chips etc) resprayed by a specialist bodyshop. It took 2 days, turned out great and ended up costing just £250, a whacking £150 cheaper than two VW dealers were quoting me in Edinburgh.

It turns out that the bodyshop I went to and was recommended used to do all the work for these VW dealers, but some overpaid moron took charge and decided to keep all the bodyshop work `in-house`. I wonder why eh!

Whilst I was dropping the car off the owner showed me another car he was working on, a Mk2 Golf with a VR6 engine `shoe-horned` in, bucket seats and ridiculously low suspension. just sprayed in a metallic green!?

I trust that after this weeks frenzy of revs and handbrake turns it'll be a little worse

Get down Tesco car park tonight and get some tread off those back tyres

My Loop's going in for a bit of lovin' shortly (or it's 2.5 year service) and I'm going to try and get a courtesy car:

List Of Must Do's

1) Cane the crap out of it when it's cold

2) Spin those wheels (I once redlined a hire Hyundai in first and dropped the clutch and the cabin stunk of burnt rubber for ages)

3) Go full tilt over speed humps/ramps

4) Handbrake it into a car park space at work Starsky and Hutch stylee

I'm sure the rest of you can come up with some other suitable suggestions.

A Passat? Isn't that a bit too big for you Lyns?!

@ Jon - Yeah it's a little bit "on the big side" I must admit! It's at home at the mo coz you won't catch me trying to manouver the huuuuuuge thing out the back of where I work!

But ho hum, I like big things so I'm happy with it

Saying that, it's almost shameful to be seen out in it coz no crap, its that dirty, you'd think it was a black one, not blue! Will get a piccy of it tonight when I get home.

Oh I wonder how my car is getting on......it's probably in pieces in the VW garage as I write this sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
