Toot
Hey, looking at buying a GTI, this one has climatronic and sunroof, must be a super rare one? Would it be an import as i have never seen climate control on a UK loop before?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-VOLKSWAGEN-LUPO-GTI-SILVER-/150513865652?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item230b5353b4
99hjhm
I have seen 3 (for sale) with climate control in the UK. Doubt it will be an import, just been upgraded by VW. Nice spec though.

Rich
wouldn't exactly be hard to retrofit climatronic from a polo into a lupo.
CasperGTI
Yeah rich it is pretty difficult iirc.I remember having a look at fitting the unit in to mine when there was a Gti with it in braking years ago. everything is electronically actuated rather than the standard cable setup. It had a couple of extra things wired to the Ecu too which was in turn wired to the fan and a/c controller in the front wing. I got to that point and decides against it. Way too much hassle. Although it's a nice extra, very rare in uk spec cars.
Rich
If you get the wiring right, you can even get it running on a bench. and then install where it shouldn't be.
treblet
If you get the wiring right, you can even get it running on a bench. Well you can't really.Where's the condenser and evaporator for the AC for a start? All that unit is doing on your kitchen worktop is illuminating the screen and powering the fans, it's not climate control in that state, it's just a heater blower and a control panel. Rich
True on the bench,; but when in the car and wired up completely, does hold whatever temperature you wish for.
CasperGTI
So, it half works then?Cant see how it can cool lower than ambient if it dont have A/C??
Rich
I'm going to have to install this into my polo aren't I? Good job it's coming apart next month.
