Legally you must fit the headlamp washers along with the self levelling setup.

Be prepared to pay through the nose for a set of GTI headlamps, they regularly go for over well £100 per lamp.

last set i missed out on over ebay fetched £60 quid each REPEAT SIXTY QUID EACH from a scrap yard complete in workin condition :angry2:

For that price I'd be very surprised if they were GTI headlamps...

However stranger things have happened.

inner wings cut back wiring chopped n split etc etc, front panels vary and some have no cut out for the deeper internals of the headlight, a headlight casing is 250 from vw, with internals and bulb close to 600 each headlight iirc, and gti front panel/slam panel 170

could you just use an aftermaket hid kit with gti light units instead paying for the pricey ballast units?

I'm not sure if the self levelling would work correctly, that is if you're fitting the levelling sensor on the rear axle in the first place though.

Hi!

I did it on my 1.4 16V...

It was one of the most complicated mods i've ever done on my car...

Not to mention expensive...

But damn.. the looks and the light output at night is all worth it! :)

The thing that took the most time was installing the headlight washer jets...

Hella makes a universal kit, and I used the caps from a Volvo FH truck :P
