Verity
insurance is shocking tbffor my boyfriend (20) insurance on a Mk3 1.0 is £50 a monthwhere as on my Mk5 polo 1.4 i paid the same amountwhen he owned a GTI insurance was a good £150 a monthfor me it was £70hes now got a polo g40. most insurance places wouldnt even insure him. Sky Insurance gave him a really good deal tho.its unfair how much more boys have to pay.its down to people like my cousin who has written off about 3 of his cars in the last three years. GtiJames
I don't understand why you lot are paying so much.... I pay 900 quid fully comp on my gti and i'm 21 with 3 years ncb.
nfbr
Exactly James! You're 21... These people are 17 with no experience! There's been a big uproar against new drivers
hunid-brake
all i can say is i know a few 17/18 yr olds and they havent managed to not smash there saxos up for more than a couple months. Its the sad truth im afraid. Im 25 and am occasionally guilty of driving like a tit, but unfortunately a lot of these young alfa males love crashing cars, hense why we have to bend over and let insurance companies fist us before we get on the road. LiamD
Hi. My names Liam, I'm 22, from Marske By The Sea, and my insurance is a ****ing rip off.At least it's *slightly* worthwhile on a car with some sort of performance.

Alex_225
Being old has it's merits! I'm 28 and insurance on my Megane 225 and my Lupo Sport were £950 for both. Only £300 for the Lupo.

Woofers
I'm now at a point where it never gets cheaper when i renew. 27, home owner, 7 years no claims, 3 points... but then it only costs me £320 a year to insure my GTI I've been there - 17 year old new driver, on my own insurance. My first car was a 1.0 Citroen AX which cost £1500 TPFT, 10 years ago!It does get better with time, you just have to be patient
