Front GTi bumper removal

Recommended Posts

I need to remove my front GTi bumper at the weekend, but haven't found anything on here covering it...except removing the rear.

I've got agood idea of whats involved....guessing i need to remove arch liners, grill and washer jet connections and then just finding all the fixing screws.

Any other advice or tips would be appreciated. Or even and exploded diagram would be cool :)

I'll also stick some pics up in the how to thread when finished.

5. Remove towing eye covers and carefully pop off washer jet covers

6. Remove the 2 screws located under the towing eyes (4)

7. Remove the 2 screws underneath the washer jet covers (6) (Might be difficult as they will be corroded to the brass insert)

8. Remove screws located under the arch lining on each side

9. Pop out the x4 'spreader rivets' (5) from underneath the car

10. Remove the screws from under the top grille (7) and the 2 screws by the headlights (8)

11. Slide the whole bumper forward

Hope this helps.
