Majeed
Hey guys, I wanted to start a thread where we give some information about how much petrol we use and the milage we gain from it. If you can state the following : 1.Price of petrol you use2.How many liters did you put in3.What kind of petrol you use 4.what kind of lupo you own5.how many miles you get 6.motorway or town driving it would be interesting to see how people are doing recently, with high petrol prices. Also to see the difference between the different types of lupo in relation to milage. go on debate ! Edited May 3, 2010 by Majeed
pro3mark
Based on yesterday, service station prices and a long journey.1. 127.9p2. Shell V-Power3. GTi4. 186 miles, just above half5. Motorway I think number 5 is needed, driving style/type.
lunalupi
Averages for the last few months are:1. Price about 120.9p a litre2. Regular 95 Unleaded - most often Sainsbury's if supermarket or BP if branded3. Arosa 1.0 (AER)4. A full tank (27 litres put in usually) will give somewhere between 250-280 miles depending on length of journeys - I can just scrape 300 if I drive for economy (i.e. 50mph or under, smooth acceleration and braking etc.)As a comparison:1. As above2. As above3. Honda CG125 motorbike4. Out of the 9-10 (usable) litre tank, I get 200 miles! Edited May 3, 2010 by lunalupi
marcusgrant
1. Premium fuel price (crazy prices)2. Premium3. Sport4. 200 - 230 5. Mainly town and country roadsI recently used tesco 99 and i think its the best fuel i've used, it made a noticable difference in the amount of miles i got out of a tank. IMO its better than vpower, for my car.

pro3mark
Drive it slowly, probably.GTis shouldn't get above 250 off motorways, if that, it's just not right.
bossjohnc
Time for me to chip in... driving carefully, usually around 300 to a tank. Less with 100% town (and less careful) driving. The most I've had so far is 430 miles to a tank. (This equated to 48-49 mpg)I fill way past the click - get about 40 litres in (maybe a drop more) - only when initially driving a decent distance. Oh, And I've had around 380-400 miles out of a full tank.
pro3mark
I heard you shouldn't fill past the click because you need expansion room in the tank!?Which is why he'll only do it when he is planning on driving a decent distance after filling up. LupoGTiNAB
Which is why he'll only do it when he is planning on driving a decent distance after filling up.I supose there wouldn't be enough time for the fuel to expand but you never know with British weather, still running a small risk nevertheless

Fow Vay
5.how many miles you get - Works out around 40-42mpg average, around 320-340 miles from a tank iirc. That's good going - I usually got 38-40mpg at best out my GTi - never went below the quarter mark if I could help it - normally did about 180 / 190 miles on 3/4 of a tank so 250 would be about right for a full tank. (This equated to 48-49 mpg)I fill way past the click - get about 40 litres in (maybe a drop more) - only when initially driving a decent distance.I only really ever drive mine around town and the occasional A road blast but rarely see returns of >200 miles per tank from my GTi...run generally on 95 RON but treated aoccasionally to 98 However, the car is almost depreciation proof so doesn't bother me how much fuel it uses. Did any GTi owner on here actually consider mpg before they bought one?
PaperWeight1
Sorry but how the hell do you get 320-340 miles out of a gti? There's no weight in the car except me really. Never carry passengers etc. which all has an effect.I don't drive particularly hard most of the time as the GTi is just to get me from A to B and to go training.
