BenLAST
I was looking at them. I personally went for CDT's. Focal's aren't amazing unless you spend around £400. Theres far better for the money IMO. Hertz are a good choice, CDT's, and JL seem to be good. The mid-bass on the Focal's are good, its the tweeters that let them down. nfbr
To be fair, the tweeters were the reason I bought focal over any other brand. CDT, Rainbow and JL were far too bright for my ears! The focals (very much like my old DLS's) were much softer and more pleasant.
marcusgrant
I've got the Access 165A1, think they're bottom of the range focals. I'm very happy with them, don't have much to compare them with though! Need a sub though now to make it sound complete.
REDLooP
Pretty good comps, just make sure u deaden the doors to hell and fill all the gaps. And get a good amp heheStill find hertz - rainbow budget - mid comps work best. Focals wake up at the K2P's
nfbr
I have the 165KR's in mine. They are absolutely fantastic. Coupled with a Genesis Profile 2 amp. Although to be honest - The 5 door Golf/Bora front doors are pretty much one of the best doors in the automotive industry for sound!I ran without a sub for 6 months after fitting the KR's. Even now, I only have the sub fitted to clean up the sound a little.
BenLAST
Well its down to personaly preferance really. Because of the ridiculous bass, i need quite bright tweeters, so they suit me perfect. Mid-bass seems to be pretty good on most components around that price though.
