ummm its got its mot tomorrow so fingers crossed. Im putting grooved and drilled black diamond discs front and back with BD Predator fast road pads, with some goodridge hoses, i know theyre not the best breaks but they needed replacing anyway and they were fairly reasonably priced. Had a red stitched custom leather gater made to match the steering wheel. Other than that not really. Looking to get a bmc cda bought and fitted. Oh an got a bonnet bra for the long trips. Oh and im jacking my front coilovers up 10mm as they are scrubbing now theyve bed in :(

Ok so the BMC CDA has been fitted. Couldn't really get it sitting perfectly symmetrical but im happy. Its above the inlet manifold with some space so shouldnt get too hot and the breather pipe is plumbed it nicely. Runs an absolute treat im well happy with it. The noise is so nice, really wasnt expecting it to be so loud lol.

ok so ive just purchased a little project to keep me busy through the weeks as i work weekends. Im sure you're all familiar with the BBS RZ's, these are 15x7j and a bit wider than my existing wheels. One of the tyres was badly bold so im hoping thats just mateys tracking out and not the wheel itself somehow. Anyway here they are and im excited to get stuck in.

I want to do a full refurb on these and restore them to former glory. I dont want to spend a fortune but im so picky. I dont really want to trust anyone else to do a good a job as i want so i might have to just do it myself. The irony is that the cost of cans (probably what id use as pretty experienced with them) will almost total to the amount id need to pay someone to shot blast them and powder coat. So not sure really. Im going to remove every single little curb mark from them thats for sure. I managed to strip the centres down quickly and easily at work using DP22 thinners and a brush. Ive now scotched them and they are ready for etch priming. I just have to wait till monday so i can get the tyres pulled off and start work on the wheels. Im also thinking i might not go for the extreme 165 on a 7j rim stretch and just chuck on my existing 185's as they are i just replaced all 4.

As for the finish im thinking all black apart from the ally part of the cap, and spraying those each a different bright colour...red, blue, green and yellow. But then have seen some chrome powder coating so not sure, but the black would be far more easy to maintain in Cornish weather and roads. Decisions :-/

Car looking good! Ive just got back down to plymouth last weekend. Black would look cool, but i liked the red ring you have on the current set to match the grille surround, so it made me think - colourmatching the wheels to the silver of the car and then doing your little red ring thing on the lip?

Ahhh Marcus, shame to hear uve sold her. Hopefully she'll get the good care you gave her from her new owner. Ive also just noticed that one of the alloys (now the tyres are off) has a flat spot :'( i think ive been done over! Might have to buy yet another wheel before i even start refurbing them. So p****d off right now

u can get a flat spot repaired for £50 or less, and the refurber will usually come to you at a time that suits you for that price. Guy did my dads alloy the other day when he kerbed it, did a great job, and we asked him about a small flatspot at the same time on another rim which he said he could fix too, but we decided to wait until show season next year again in case dad kerbs it again!

Yeah ive got some wheel specialists to do tem now. They recon they can get it out and refurb them for a pretty reasonable price. Not sure about the finish ive decided on :-/ will have to see what they look like when theyre done lol

yeah bud, well the wheel place thinks theyve got it out pretty well, they put the tyres on and went to balance them but that wheel was coming out as "zero'd" without any adjustment or weights so hopefully thats the wheel sorted. I got them back today and they transferred the tyres and stuck them on and oh my.... i left my hub-centric spacers on and theyre sticking out a bit more than my old ones. Anyway im running no where near as much stretch and the car; sitting as low as it is, is creating some mega scrubbage. So tomorrow my friendly mechanic is going to raise the car yet again on the kw's to put a stop to that. The ride will be no where near as low as it used to be but i think its a bit more sensible anyway as im restricted to certain roads as it is as the clearance is so bad. Once its all finished and the sun wants to rear its face again ill clean him up and post some pics! Overall........very happy.
