HELP! Admiral refusing to insure coilovers

Sorry to rain on your parade Adam, great that you've got the quote for it (the guy you spoke to yesterday was talking out of his ar$e lol), but your Coilies are not insured to be replaced. You will be insured but the car will be put back to standard in the event of an accident. If you have taken out extra modifications cover (an ancillary which costs you more on your annual policy) then you may be able to claim the cost of the modification however it wouldn't be a repair, it would be a cash sum for you to replace the mods.

I suggest you check your small print or feel free to pm me or email me as I'm a bit busy in work at the moment and can't do as much browsing as I'd like. For the record, my job is in the Accident Loss dept of Admiral lol :)

I thought this but when i asked the woman said that its a new 'thing' that the parts are replaced like for like. Does sound a bit odd to be fair since coilovers vary in price but i shall check the insurance certificate when it comes through and let you all know.

Now i know where to come for any further insurance related advice lol ;)

Yes, I'm pretty sure that while my coilovers are declared "< 5cm", the repair would be for standard parts.

Replacement would be a bonus but im just glad im covered for them after the conversation i had on the phone the other day lol

Good news that bud, i'm covered by admiral and they had no issues covering me and my weitecs after a write off earlier in the year. Good company if you talk to the right person IMO, shouldn't be that way though.

When I tried a quote with Elephant (same company as Admiral) I was told that they will not insure a drop bigger than 50mm. Which seems silly as on their website there's an option for "lowering: 5cm-12.5cm". If you click it they say they need more information and to phone them up.

That's why I like Brentacre, they actually know what they're talking about.
