Todays jobs were packing away more parts and making some order in the garage and to remove last bit of loom and get scraping away the sound deadening from the floor and inside the rear quarters and doors. Its so surprising how much this stuff weighs when all in a bag at same time!

Next jobs : grinding away and a gud wash thoughout, plenty of TFR in that engine bay. Get rid of what un needed parts i have left and then the golf can be dismantled.

I had my girlfriend helping today, was a nice surprise. came as a shock that she wanted to get involved tbh

me and you both. Tbh im enjoying doing it as much as anything else. I was just going to run the golf engine as it is but i keep deciding to lengthen the job as i go.

I want to do an engine rebuild now before it goes in, just for the sake of it really. itl just be nice knowing all is perfect inside. Then change to a Ko3s turbo, with a 3" decat downpipe and performance system, FMIC, forge TIP and some mapping work i should be able to push to 240bhp. I think thats a sensible option for a loop, nice fast spooling factory turbo and sensible power delivery.

You say that, but that K03S suddenly turns into a K04, which then turns into a GT28, which then turns into a GT30, then you've got a 400bhp motorbike scaring Lupo. Might as well do it while the engine is out eh...

Looks really good so far though!

Thanks :)

Lol, Stop filling my head with ideas  .

In all seriousness though, i need to keep cost down as im saving hard to travel for 6 n half months next year and the ko3s is a direct replacement without fabrication and are nice and cheap to source. When i get back from my travels i'l look into bigger power maybe.

Had a nasty suprise this morning, came to my loop to find someone had reversed into the back of it and put a creased dent approx 500mm long in my boot and squashed my bumper (popped back out but its cracked the paint off) kinda ruined my morning.

I made some more golf progress today, albeit slow progress.

Got all the loom removed from the engine and did some labelling up.Just to make life easier for refitting. Usually looms only go back in one way but figured things will be in slightly different places when it goes in the loop so labelling might help me. I got disconnected any links to the car itself so just ready to crane it out now :)

Anyone wana but some golf bits? every panel, every window the shell itself. everythings gota go.

Yep :) im in no major rush, uve got your unit to get sorted now. Kirsty says you can have the settee out the summer house for the portacabin. Ive got you a stereo, lees lettin you have the fridge, barry put up a shelf....itl be a great setup B)

loads of things to get on with, selling parts and removing all panels etc from golf and bubble wrapping them up then gota get rid of shell n all that, get engine on the stand and start painting all the bits and pieces and making it look pretty.
