Frankie
Thought id post up some pictures of todays work.Picked up a 1.4e lupo yesterday and set about removing the engine, box etc.Plan is to get rid of all the surplus bits now then dismantle the golf and get rid of the surplus from that and then move onto fitting stage, keeping storage of cars and parts to a minimum. Here are a few pics of the removal and a bit of mucking about as you do Engine before we startNope, no good....cant lift itBeauty of an engine crane, no time to pick one up with darkness closing in.We dropped it out a little quicker than we had anticipated That was it for today, it soon whent dark. Progress will be slow as this is a saturday project, keeps us out of trouble i guess.

Frankie
lol, we'l get the crane on the job when the 1.8t comes out the golf. dont wana risk damage to that one.although the wood didnt think so i couldnt believe how light the engine and box were. Im sure my old yaris engine was heavier without the box on. was quite shocked.
pro3mark
Did it damage the old engine then? Whats happening with it. Good to hear about it being light

dubsy
lupo 20v,s there everywhere at the moment lol youll need the crane for the 1.8t mines weights a ton couldnt imagine trying to lift it with a 2x4
Frankie
nah didnt do any damage to the engine. Not that it matters though as the bottom end it nackered. tbh that was at the back of our minds, that it doesnt matter if it does drop. Trolley jack is too fidly, wanted it out quick.....certainly was quick lol.as for whats happening with it, anythings for sale on it. Head, sensors and so on. Il just weigh the block in unless anybody wants that.I seem to have provisionaly sold the exhaust system, seats and door cards, gear knob and gaitor and handbrake lever so anything else im bot going to need is for the taking for a few days, then il do some ebaying. Airbags, dash and so on.@tigz: Looking forward to seeing how we get on myself. Its all about having fun so therel be no pressure to get it done asap. As long as its done by time my mates cossie restoration is finished so we can go play on the track together.
