Atari Boy
I am new to Lupo's infact as of yet I do not own one.I am concidering getting a Gti.I have two questions for existing owners if I may. What MPG can I expect on average for normal driving?Andare they happy on motorways? They are quite small so wondered if they get blown about by larger trucks etc. Many thanksJonny
hunid-brake
welcome mate. firstly if driven sensibly and fuel cautious yu can get 40mpg and the 6speed gti is very comfortable on the motorway. it hold the road very well and doesnt give off the feel of a small car at all. on bumpy roads you can sometimes feel it due to the short wheel base but nothing worth worrying about. the recaros in gtis are good and offer more comfort than any other lupo and due to the engine being a 1.6 its very comfortable crusing at 80/90 should you choose to do so. i had a sport and on a long journey on mototways the gti is more economic as the engine isnt working so hard to maintain higher speeds. round town it may be less but the fun you will undoubtable have makes up for it. dude get one they are truely brill cars. Atari Boy
That is just what I wanted to hear. My daily driver is a Grand Cherokee and I just want something small, goodish mpg (35 and I would be happy) and fun, my Mrs can use the Jeep. All I need to do is find one, they are quite hard to find! Thanks for the advise. matt~black
your unlikely to get 40mpg in every day driving i wouldn't have thought unless you just drive on motorway all the time i get 27 average from mine in general urban driving
Mike_M
I get 60 to 70 miles to a 1/4 of a tank (240 to 280 miles to a tank without the secret button trick) depending on how I drive her around town. As long as its being maintained and gets its regular filter changes.
GtiJames
the recaros in gtis are goodthe lupo gti doesnt have recaros, one of its biggest let downs, still relatively comfy seats though.
electricpanda
They are comfy, but if your quite slim the lumbar support is pretty pants. Edited September 8, 2009 by electricpanda
GtiJames
Very true. They are a bit of a let down

Suppose you could see them as a good compramise?
