dbmonkey
Hi, Having spent about 30 mins trying to take one bolt out of my lupo's front wheel, looks like the threads on it are completely mangled as well as on the hub itself... Seems to me the goons at the tyre place must have rammed the bolts in after the last tyre change... 1) Do I need to replace the whole hub, or just a part of it2) How difficult a job is it to do?Cheers much
BenLAST
Try re-tapping it to see if it cleans up the thread. If not, tap it to a larger size and find a slightly larger threaded bolt. All else fails, new hub.
matt~black
new hub is fairly cheap if i remember rightly circa 30squid and bearing will break when removing the hub that's about 12squid but if a garage offers to do it for an hours labour or whatever it says in their book bite their arm off it took me 3 days and ended up having to send the whole carrier into my bro's college to be pressed out with heat on it and they still struggled to do it then the geometry is all wrong because the carrier has been off so i'd avoid doing it yourself not worth the hassle
