I've driven the 3 cylinder 1.4 TDIs inthe polo - both the earier 75hp and the facelift polo's 80hp version and they're great engines.

Lots of poke because the torque is low down like all other PD TDI engines. Just remember to short shift if you want to ride the torque curve rather than the power curve. I do this all the time in the VRS (change around 2.5 - 3k) and the results are very impressive. So much so, that the GTI now feels slow because it feels "wrong" to have to rev the nuts off something to make it go.

And, A2s are also great cars. A friend of mine had one, and I was really impressed with the quality of the cabin.

Hmmm... mmm...

(silver, facelift?)

I just did a search of what's available with that engine...

I did a press review of them when they first came out (sadly it's been lost, but some of it is here: http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtop...;t=6998#p50030) and *loved* them back then...

I'll also bet his first mod will be the infamous "cubby box mod"

Yes you are correct, a Hmmm... mmm... it is.

You detective you! ;)

Mmmmm... hmm... mmm... + colour coding + coilovers = ace

Not sure about colour coding, but it's a no to coilovers as this car needs to be sensible for camping and TSO insists "no lowering".

Now I know air ride is for gays, but...

...I am in touch with my feminine side

I appear to have been edited!!

Must be right - (un)fortunately, finding things out is part of my job...

What is this cubby box mod you speak of?

I have a double DIN HU, so no cubby hole, but do you mean the one on the top of the dash?

:(
