Broken door hinge pin - replace?

Recommended Posts

Drivers door is very clunky on the Lupo - initially thought it was the strap, but its actually the bottom door pin. The pin moves around inside its seat, causing the door not to close smoothly..

We tried to take the pin out, but it wont budge. Is the easiest solution to replace the whole hinge?

Think you need to replace the check strap, they are £15.50 from VW. There is a topic in the how to section.

I think he's talking about the door pin.

Lupo's door's are horrid.

10quid for the door hinge, an al have a looky for the spline today for size, bottem hinge is a easy fix, but if its top passenger nightmare,

an the design has changed,

it dosent have those screws in that you tighten to the pin its now sealed,

hope this helps an al dig the spline out
