Not done a massive amount to the Lupo, fitted a uprated lower engine mount created by nfbr on here.

Makes a massive difference under braking and smoother under acceleration too. :)

Also had a full service, just needs cambelt change now.

Are you fitting the exhaust as it is or changing the end pipes?

Was the lower mount you removed worn, or is it better just because this one is stiffer?

Looking brilliant as always matey :)

Going to fit it as is.

The old mount was 80K old so probably a little tierd. Bought a new one, was going to fill it with polyurethane resin like CasperGTI did, then Al thought of this. So will fill the old one now and sell that on.

How much was the mount..........looks interesting?

I've done 6 of them so far, 5 in GTI's and 1 in a TDI. The one in a TDI was only a Semi-Success though as it increased dash vibration a fair bit.

If you send me your original mount in the post, I'll modify it and send it back for £25 (service + parts) plus Postage. Could probably post it back for £7 or £8 via Courier.

PM me if you are interested however just be aware the turn around is generally 2 days from me receiving the part.

Boring week at work and always loved this car when I saw it in the flesh (you are anal mate) tho I can see where you get it from with your parents cars. So having a nice read of this

There was a thread a while ago with a supposed Jap spec GTi in it, a few members thought the number plate recesses looked shorter and that it had an MD headunit (bossjohn IIRC wink.gif) but I think it was more likely just a shadow in the photo. No further pictures have ever been found smile.gif

It was me! Local breakers yard had one in that had been repaired and had 6 miles on clock. I wanted it for ages. I saved and about 4 months after seeing it when to go down with a deposit and say Il have it and it went earlier that week! GUTTED! It was a red one. Had MD player and I was told it was a Jap spec and everyone on here thourght it was too

Fitted some Golf MK4 Anni Sill covers...

.

I've got a set of these to fit, I notice you've trimmed them down near the rubber area, did you trim the lower bit too, as the drain hole cut out is in a different area ?

Thanks

Mount is a mod really worth doing.

Looking at this thread makes me regret selling my GTi sad.gif

Looking good as always mate smile.gif

Cheers Sheldon. :)

That's an outstanding ride!

:o:

:)

Not much to say other than this thread is what made me want to join the site :P Excellent work! Whats the progress on the Loop now?

Not that much really will update this thread soon though.

Havent seen many updates on this for a while James! Had enough?

Sorry mate. :) Yeah, guess I have had enough. Still love the little thing to bits though.

I think I trimmed the bit that sits agaist the door seal, and cut out the area for the slot after it is on the car.

Jesus how have I missed this thread in the past? This car is cleaner than a car that's just finished being built in the factory! How do you even get engine bay so bloody clean?! Very good tasteful mods as well. Very impressive.

Just do abit at a time, get there in the end. Thanks for your comments. :)

Fitted a second hand Janspeed stainless exhaust with twin 31/4" tail pipes, waited ages for one to come along as Janspeed don't make them like this anymore. The center section is unsilenced. :)

JanspeedExhaust.jpg

Fitted all new stainless clamps with stainless bolts and stainless hose clips round each of the exhaust mountings to raise them all up so the exhaust fitted perfectly. :)

..and came away with a class win, beating a Saxo, R26 Megane and some classic stuff! Very wet day.

Refitted the 280mm G60 brakes, still have the Porsche ones in the garage if anybody is interested.
