Posted August 5, 2009 Report Share Posted August 5, 2009 I was just a Tesco getting some lunch and an old geezer with a rather shiney MK4 GT TDI was looking at my GTi.When I come out he is at my car and says "it looks nice and well modified, but I can't see the point of spending all that money on a 1.0 Lupo".I tried to tell him, but no, no, he kept talking about the 1.0 engine and was it my sons car and how I could have got a Golf for all that money...His wife got in the car and he was in front of me at the junction and whilst I turn left from Tesco to go to work, I couldn't resist turning right behind him and down onto the bypass where I stuck on his ass and then passed him.I can only assume it was a 110PS or a 115PS and not a 130 or 150 as he was puffing black clouds, so he was trying.Bonus was one of my colleagues was with me and it's the first time he's seen it opened up! he was grinning quite a bit until I had to brake and the wheel wobble set in!Disks getting changed tomorrow. The bad thing is, whenever I take her out now, I have to give the car a bit of stick everywhere cos she loves the noise... I struggle to crack 20mpg now Must get a video up of the VR rumble.
