`e-to`-`the-z` Posted June 24, 2004 Report Share Posted June 24, 2004 OK guys, I've been talking to a reputable tyre dealer today, who has been talking to me about what new shoes I can put on my GTi.....I really hate the std tyres that come with it, they're crap in the rain.He's recommended that I could use these...what do you guys think?Pilot EXALTO 195/50 R15 82H (Michelins)Any ideas on whether these are truly suitable or not?Thanks people! jonnycv Posted June 24, 2004 Report Share Posted June 24, 2004 The tyre i am going to replace the front dunlops will be a Pilot Exalto 195/45 15, I am hoping it will reduce understeer, as it dose on the clio 182. Snoopy Posted June 24, 2004 Report Share Posted June 24, 2004 at 300 quid for four, I'd go with Eagle F1s or similar - much cheaper and very little difference.Nothing fundamentally wrong with using 195/50/15, just 195/45/15 is closer to the original tyre size. Bear that in mind before assuming that online places will be cheaper.(I use Micheldever tyres near Winchester - cost £240 including `stick-on` weights inside and `laser-rig` front wheel alignment).
