MartyP
Over the last few months i've noticed my PEA getting a lot louder, Yesterday a friend of mine took it for a spin and hearing it outside the car i realizedi've either had ninja's install a induction kit during the midnight hours or something was blowing. The sound seems to be coming straight from underneath the manifold shield, this weekend i hope to take off the shield and have a better look. Also another point a friend made is i've had a few bad bangs underneath the manifold area so it could be a bit of rust which has had a bump.Where can i find a 4-2-1 manifold now days? Could i end up burning out my CAT with this?Any help appreciated.Marty Edited January 14, 2008 by MartyP
Tallika_Fan
Kam racing for the manifold, £
KrazyKev
It could be the flexi in the downpipe.Mine recently went, i cut the flexi out and welded a new one in, £375 for a new downpipe and cat.!
Jazz-Loop
Yeh could be your flexi. My car is similiar problem i thought it was my manifold but then cheched it out and was very happy to find out that it wasnt as its fairly costly to get new manifold put on. Im getting the same done it cut out and a new welded back on, does yours seem to be a lot better now as people have said that it may not sort the problem? KrazyKev
Yeah much better, however the flexi i used was one i robbed off an old 1.8T exhaust ;-)

MartyP
have a look here if you need a new one, about the cheapest i know ofwww.sportcats.co.ukregards kevinCheers matey and thank you andyp for the pm!I found a cat and downpipe for 170 quid, i fitted it myself but i've recently found a new problem The car needs a tap of the gas pedal everytime it's started up... Otherwise it just dies straight away. Also when idling the car starts to viberate a lot, all new problems i've never encountered before.. samson
sh*t.. :|have a look !! if its only that you only need to re join the wire ??.was the problem there before or only since??if since it can only be a few things.if the wire is broken you can solder it back together, the wire does get brittle with the heat and can break very easily, good luckregards kevin
