(Lupo_Simon)
Going to look at a car this weekend. Its a 2004 silver gti. Seems like its got no extras although may have the 6 cd changer. Done 48000 miles. Costs £7000. Do you think this is a good deal? Will hopefully be able to get it for closer to £6500
Philplop
Seems pretty good to me, may even be tempted to say somewhat of a bargain.
(Lupo_Simon)
I just wasnt sure because of the mileage. You think there will be any problems with it doing nearly 50k?I've never had a car with more than about 40000 before.

L119 UPO
I wouldnt worry about the mileage, these engines will live longer than your decide to keep it for!Oh deffo, but the price should definately reflect the mileage. Also bear in mind what the mileage may be when you come to sell.

Philplop
Check that it's had the cambelt done. It should be done at 40k. If it hasn't barter them down to reflect this.
Jen
nope side air bags are a rare optiongood luck with the loop check the 3rd brake light is working and the spoilers not too bubbled
Eternal T-Boy
Check that it's had the cambelt done. It should be done at 40k. If it hasn't barter them down to reflect this.Philplop is right - Cost for this will vary - I paid £334 for mine but that might be slighly higher due to London prices. The seller/dealer may say that it doesn't need doing until 60000 miles but that is incorrect. It is 40-45000 miles or 4 years whatever comes sooner - the handbook is wrong - there are numerous threads on the cambelt issue. So if it hasn't had this done the price should be dropped to compensate for you having to do this. Good luck!!
