Nicki
Went to Austria & back in one (2200 miles in a week) - only drove for about 200 of those miles though as the boys did the rest.Averaged around 25mpg for the trip, which included a little bit of toe-down autobahn driving and a fair amount of casual "pootling".Large engine + heavy car = not great fuel consumption, even when being careful. The 4motion-ness weighs too much imo. Good fun to drive, but far too easy to go faster than you should without realising. Speeding ticket magnet as a result. Not as quick off the mark as you'd expect though - it was easily beaten by a mk3 golf VR6 on a 1/4 mile sprint. scoobydoo
mmmm the mpg is hectic as u got it spot on accordin to parkers with 25mpg. i just figure no point goin for one of the lame engines when u can have 4 motionness. i would have a loop gti but for a similar spec its easy a couple of grand more for half the metal lol. its either that or a mk1 but not to reliable for scootin to uni stuck in traffic or a reasonably priced loop gti which would b good as i already have the wheels. needs to b raven blue though. just b different wit a big bora to cruise around in all snug in the heated seats.Glen
Adam
Plus you could get the Bora in Raven Blue aswell I quite like Bora's, so a V6 4Motion would appeal to me.
Nicki
Our snowmobile for the week:I'd honestly suggest a lesser spec bora - one without the weight of the 4motion... perhaps the V5? I wouldn't imagine the performance would be much different because it's without the extra weight
scoobydoo
nice lookin beast. just a touch harder to park than the little lupo lol.
Nicki
Especially when there's 3 feet of snow in front of you - John couldn't resist parking the bora *in* the snow.He then switched the esp off to wheel spin out of the snow, several hundred feet up a mountain. scoobydoo
how can u resist some 4 wheel driftin in the snow back wheels hangin off the edge of a cliff lol!!Glen
Bikerz
They are very rare to find, but well sped as standard. my mates looking for one too (been looking for months) either been too modified, wrong colour or bits wrong with them
2001gti
whats the v5 like?
Crusoe
evo rated the v5 with the sports suspension pack as the best of the range. your profile name might be a better car though if you can live with the image of a scooby. Pretty indestructable and much more fun.
scoobydoo
wouldnt mind a new scooby but dont have that sort of cash and im only 21 livin in northern ireland so insurance on an impreza is a nightmare, but the bora isnt to bad really not sure why. c to many of the old imprezas drivin around and they rnt really my style anywho. need a veedub!! might just buy a loop gti and stop arsin around. at least then i no what im dealing with and insurance is £560.the bora v5 is slower than a lupo and costs more to run + the front wheel drive aspect. just thought it would be fun to have a roaring v6 with 4 motion and i already had it modded in my head lol. eatthisvr6
i thought it only went into 4motion wen the front wheels dont grip?trueiv just bought a golf 4 mo (why oh why did they ditch the vr6 name!!!) its a VERY nice car the recaro leather is feckin awesome its got plenty of low rev grunt but dies top end its nowhere near quick enough for me yet (still got the 320 bhp mk3 charged vr) but rotrex is gonna change all that
RobG
Averaged around 25mpg for the tripThat's kinda scary, considering the 3.5l V8 Disco we took to Milan and back was getting about 18mpg...
Nicki
i thought it only went into 4motion wen the front wheels dont grip?Which is why the added weight of the 4wd is so utterly pointless. You'll probably only need the 4wd a few times a year so its really not worth insuring/maintaining/suffering the reduced mpgs of a v6 4motion imo!
