OK had mine all setup today and Im running 2.3 negative on the front and 0.42 negative on the rear. I cant get any more adjustment in due to my coilovers not allowing it angry.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" /> Id rather have it not so far out as I dont like the way these tyres are wearing.

What do you lot run camber wise and what do you do to combat wear? swap tyres on wheels? Do any of you have coilovers and have enough adjusment to run it as it should be? If so what coilovers do you have?

What coilovers do you have?

Why are you soo worried about camber? Some on here run nearly 4 derees negative. I just dont like the un even tyre were within about a 1000 miles on hard tyres!

Sheldon stop being a big girl and leave it as it is. It's not that big a problem and the tyre wear wont be that significant.

Well said that man!

Jen is running negative, can't remember what, 1.5 maybe? and its fine

there would be an optimum setting somewhere for handling on the road in wet and dry conditions. and for bumpy to smooth surfaces. you dont want it too negative. it needs to be a compromise as if like me it costs £55 to get it adjusted each time.

i dont have coilovers, i have H&R cup comfort kit, -30mm.

I run -2.5º, i mean a lot of people say that's extreme for road use but i can't say i've had any problems. It greatly reduced understeer both in the dry and the wet and has helped (along with the KW's) to neutralise the handling. I had new uniroyals put on at the same time as the camber adjusted so i don't know which helped more but it feels far more sure footed now than it did before, even in the wet. If your going to get it adjuted (Clouseau) then it's probably worth going for -2º, you might not notice enough difference with a .5.

have you tried camber 1.5/2? it could be that they would give even more suitable for grip.

i know that when i changed from dunlop to toyo it was like driving another car, it completely changed the character of the car, it didnt slide anymore. but the grip was great.

i went to a -1.3 camber in my previous car, and it was interesting as to how twitchy it got, which was fun. i will probably just get -1.5 to be safe. i had a -2 in the gti before and it was ok, that was on the scary dunlops. i only had it on for a short while though so didnt know how tyre wear progressed.

I went from standard to -2.5º, and your right it could be more suited at less than that, but with with others going a lot higher (something i'm not going to do) i think i've got it somewhere near where it needs to be. I'm not worried about tyre wear either so for that reason it doesn't really bother me about running the figure that i do. I just thought i'd share with you what i know because it could save you 2 lots of £55.

it would if 2 is better than 1.5 lol.

i think each car is likely to be individual also for how it feels with camber, what size/brand tyres, how low, suspension stiffness. and how agressive you are on which roads etc.

all info is appreciated.

Whats the rear camber on yours luke? (I take it protyre gave you a print out?)

Luke you know ive only done abou 1000 miles in the car on those brand new tyres, and im getting quite close to wear indicators on the inside already and I drive so slowly and carfully. How many miles do you get luke? do you swap the tyres on the rims and wear the oher side of tyre?

Rear camber isn't adustable as far as I know.

Im not going to argue as I dont know, but my rear is 1.42 -tive.

Jen, do you swap tyres on rims? How many miles do you get from a set of tyres, any help would be great. Why are mine wearing soo quick then? They pretty hard compound (dont know what they are)

Joe's right the rear is fixed and there's nothing you can do. But i think you need to look at your figures again. I'd be very surprised if yours was over -1.0 on the rear as mine is no where near that.

Ive got the paper work here mate, il show you when I next see you. How many miles do you get from tyres and do you chnage them round to wear both sides? You car seems to grip better than mine, even when mine was slammed

-2.5 on the front. Been like that for 60,000 miles. I usually get 6000-8000 miles from my front tyres.

-0.75 on the rear. Been like that for 60,000 miles. I usually get 10000-12000 miles from my rear tyres.

My self and Luke got it done at a place called Protyre in glos (they a total bunch of w*nk*r's tho, butr sadley only place you can get it done around here. Has to be a rather specialised garage realy mate. Protyre only realy deal in tyres, alloy wheels and suck like, hence they can do it.

Im reeeeeellllyyy getting peeeed off with the places round the northeast.

I took mine to about 5 places last week and they wouldnt do it as they said it was too low.

I booked it in with one of the biggest around with the low ramp and explained it was very low and they said it would be fine as they do them all the time.

Gets there and sat in the waiting room for 30 mins, a guy comes out and sits down telling me its way out and needs doing (I already knew that otherwise I wouldnt have been there)

He then said they cant do it as it takes too long and if they did it would be 86 quid. I told him I had adjusted them only a few hours ago without and special equipment and it took me 20 mins but I could onlt adjust it too the eye.

Anyway I sat in the waiting room and called two other places went through the whole thing and got it down to 40 quid and to take it sat morning.

Its now taken 3 weeks to get the camber and alignment sorted so them tyres will be bald by the time they get done.

Bloody hell thats good(esspecialy on yours as its 167bhp) , what tyres?

Toyo Proxes mate. I don't really hammer it around that much so the power is not too much of a factor in tyre life.
