Just shut the driver door and it popped. Not sure what happened. Can only think it must have been hit by a stone whilst the council were cutting the neighbouring glass and was just waiting for the next applied pressure.

I thought only front screen and door glass was different. Maybe the tint?

The technician is going to look at my front screen with a mind to order a replacement and fit before mine gives. Got one nasty chip and at least three little ones. Autoglass lady on the phone said most insurers will replace rather than repair more than three chips.

Ironically the first question was; is your car secure?

My answer; no.

Didn't make a lot of difference did it, but at least if anything happens between now and the 17th...

All the glass on the GTI is the same as the 3L glass, just about thick enough to be road legal. Its all about the weight saving......!!!

11 years old and a happy MOT result today.

Small blow on the back box, so; do I get it repaired or crack out the new rear section which is hanging in my attic.

Decisions, decisions...

it'd be a shame to waste such a nice part in the attic ;) plus TSO would probably be grateful for the room aha!

12 years old in december I just had to buy some additional servcice booklets. (need to go get the last stamp from Decemebr from my VW Specialist)

OE from LupoBoz, they say "duplicate" but that's all they do. maybe they don't expect anyone to be stamping their service history after 10 years.

You don't need to service them after 10 years old! In fact I think you're supposed to throw it away and go and buy a new car.

Took your advice Jon and took it to the breakers today. Collect my Kia Piccanto next Thursday.
