C17
where abouts do u live? coz quite a few places do tinting, and all that do will be able to do the security film as well!As far as i know the only rule, legally, is that u can't have the front window tinted, but i don't think there is any rule of how dark they can be!if and when u do get it done, make sure that u do get good people to do it, as the film can be done badly if ur not careful and start to peel off! shao_khan
I think legal max is 35% on front windows, the back can be blacked out completely if you want. I have a couple of mates who have gone darker and have had no issues, but one guy has max legal all round and is always being stopped - go figure - bored coppers I guess. gordon
if ur not sure on legality, check with fitters or ask ur local plod, but i think 35% sounds right for front windows and anything else goes on back. most ppl go legal fronts and slightly darker rears, gives darker all round appearance. Alvaro
What i(personally style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ) don't like is black rear windoz and clear fronts... if the maximum 4 the front is 35%, i'd go foe 35 front and 35 back, not that black, but at least looks the same front and rear and the windoz don't change that much style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
LupoSDi
Hi Black Lupo,Have you heard of a company called Pentagon? they specialise in security film for car windows. You can get the film in shades from clear, light smoke all the way to midnight black. The shades upto midnight are road legal, plus the film has Thatcham approval, so might save you a bit of £ on your insurance. They advertise in Max Power magazine or so im told.Hope it helpsDan style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

LupoSDi
Hi Black Lupo,I cleaned my Loop today then I went out for a quick McDonalds for dinner, but I got busted! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I was about to roll off the McDonalds car park after my meal when a fat little piggy of a police man (in a fiesta! of all cars!) clocked my Lupo with its FoliaTec Midnight black tinted windows all round. He had a good look around the car and I thought I was in big trouble because even in bright sunlight you cant really see through the tints, but he told me I shouldnt really have the windows that dark and he loved my Lupo. I wondered if he was on something! as police men arent normally that kind. I escaped without even a producers. That confirms it, you can get away with just about anything in a Lupo!Dan style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
