Apple have just released their mobile phone. Full touchscreen the length of the phone, 8gig storage, basically runs OSX so has safari and iTunes built in.

Also released Apple TV.

A box to plug into your TV. Wirelessly connects to your iTunes and can play your music, videos and photos <IMG SRC="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif"> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Conference is still going, so still more to come!

I need one. (The iPhone that is)

I've been looking forward to iTV/AppleTV, however I'm a bit disappointed it has no ability to record onto its drive, that would be a killer feature for me, especially as apple has yet to roll out its iTunes TV and Movie stores in the UK.

That phone though, yum. I'm having one.

About the best image I can find so far, I presume we'll get better images over the next day or so...

How cool is that smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. I've been watching at work, and then been catching up since I got home.

Think the iTV will be impressive enough, tis a shame about not recording TV but its still very impressive.

The phone though, thats just insane, and orders are being taken straight away for release next month ! smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You found a video stream joe? I could only find the text blog on tuaw.com and macrumors.

$499 - 4gig iPhone

$599 - 8gig iPhone

shipping in europe in Q4 of 2007!

At least that gives time to save! I wonder what networks this will be on. I've been with Orange for 7 years now, but if this is on say, O2, I'm changing. Hope it comes to all networks though. Any network that doesn't carry this phone will be missing out.

This is going to be the first phone ever that I'll try and pre-order.

Nope no video link, just macrumourslive.com and engadget.com for better photos and more in depth descriptions of features smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Ah, I see. Shame Apple don't do the live stream anymore, I remember the first one I ever watched in 2000, you couldn't tell what was going on and would constantly dropped off.

It might appear a minor thing, but Apple is now Apple Inc, not Apple Computer Inc.

Stop being impatient Andy smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> There will be full video coverage later. Its just they don't live stream anymore. I'd imagine with the amount of viewers it would get, bandwidth would be a major issue.

Macrumours is struggling quite badly just by doing AJAX updates smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Apple Inc. Nice !

Yeah, but would be nice to watch live wouldn't it. smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Things have improved though, in years past even the text update sites would fall over within minutes of the keynote starting.

Joe, do you subscribe to .Mac? On all the Apple forums it gets a right slagging but I've always been happy with it. Theres a rumor its going to get a massive storage boost, which would be nice.

Text commentary says its over, what, no 'one more thing'? sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Apple pages on the iPhone are up

There appears to be a new Airport Base station...

Very nice, I seen previews of what the phone might look like, but none of them as cool as this.

The Airport Extreme BS is ultra cool too. Maybe see a few of these popping up at work as the older ones we have are getting a bit ong in the tooth.

Well done Apple! Just get The Beatles and Led Zeppelin signed up to iTunes and the job's a good'un!

Yeah, just been on the apple store myself. £199 for AppleTV isn't bad at all.

One thing though, its on sale from Feb here, which is great, but once we get it all you can do with it is stream music, view photo's and hook upto online trailers. What about the main function, which is video streaming of films and tv shows?

How can they launch this without launching the content??? I'm presuming iTunes doesn't allow you to import divx stuff into the library, so what are we actually going to able to watch on AppleTV? Don't get me wrong, I think its great, but I don't think its a must have just yet.

Bah! Front page of Apple.com is crashing my browsers, both IE7 and Firefox.

The Sensible One is on the iBook!

Andy, I reckon it'll be possible to get other content on there somehow. We were talking about it at work, and think itll be just like a minimac, but severely locked down. So hopefully itll be a case of digging around its filesystem and finding a way to open it up tongue.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

It was playing up in Safari a bit ago but seems to be working now.

I figured someone would crack it eventually, but it still seems really silly that theres no UK/Euro movie/tv store yet.

Yeah its annoying its not been released yet. I don't think they even have a date yet do they?

Nope, nothing. Then again look how long it took the iPhoto services to launch, bloody years!

The movie store is *fairly* recently, but the TV store has been about for well over a year. I presume it must be coming this year because otherwise it renders the AppleTV slightly useless.

Anyone checked out the quicktime animations on the iPhone page, wow that interface is brilliant.

I'm sure many will say 'its nothing revolutionary' 'my K800i does the same for a lot less money' but that interface is worth the money alone. The iPod wasn't especially revolutionary, but they way it interacted with the user (simple sync features, user interface) was. Same for this iPhone.

Really can't wait to get my hands on this. Sarahs having one too. smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

The animations really show how amazing it is IMO. The integration between the apps is stunning. Being able to search for something on Google Maps and then phone it directly from the phone number listed is so simple. Texts messages listed as a conversation is brilliant too, and the other media functions such as the video and audio playback are great. The web browsing is also brilliant. I have an SPV C550 and it takes forever to scroll all over the page. Being able to zoom and drag like the iPhone does would be brilliant.

Obviously all the Apple haters will say...blahdy blah, I'm not going to be a sheep it's not that great, it doesn't have solitaire on it and it's too big etc etc, but tbh I don't give a crap. It's about 300% better than my SPV, has more functionality, is easy to use, looks great and has WiFi.

Yeah, that text conversation part of the interface is a nice idea.

I just love the way the UI shifts for different functions. Only thing I'm not sure on is the QWERTY input, I've never had a phone that does that, but I think I'll get used to it.

My K800i does sync fairly well with iSync on my mac, but this will be better for sure.

ooooh wasnt there that company thats just released an "iphone"?

wonder if they'll sue...

Also, hold your horses everyone, remember - what we have so far is only computer generated animation from what I can see, and not an actual real life model.

Also, I wouldnt jump in and get an early one, as it is going to have teething problems like every other single phone thats released in its first batch. (anyone who thinks apple might not are just naiive imho).

It looks nice, but as with any new launch product, the end item might look slightly different or not function in the same way.

No it exists. Steve Jobs had one at the Keynote and made some calls on it wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Apple wouldn't ever show something unless it was ready to be launched within a month or so.
