Z4 Coupe is a go...

Not really a shock given how production ready the show car looked, but here are the official shots of the new Z4 Coupe.

M version will be out right away, standard model gets the 3.0 with a respectable 265bhp, the M gets the 3.2 from the outgoing M3 with 340.

I love it, even if the blue in the press shots isn't the best colour for the shape. I wouldn't be seen head in a Z4 but I'd have one of these.

Heres the pistonheads story.

Just trying to find you lot some pictures i can link to as PH doesn't allow it as usual. Found, here you go...

not sure if you'd find many wanting to pay the premium over the soft top for effectivly the same car though. I still like the old M coupe though and this one should be good too though it's bound to be expensive.

on a slight side note i saw a bangled 7 series last night and the looks are growing on me, after the latest bangle cars the new 5 and z4 etc. though the 3 series is all wrong, it's growing on me and looked very imposing and quite evil in gloss black. Going very cheap too, as are new shape Rangerovers, was £70K+ now under £30K after 3 years ouch.

The old M Coupe is one of my favourite cars of all time! This however, still looks nice but I don't think its going to be as raw and aggressive as the old model, bmw put too much electric crap on their cars now sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Still i wouldnt say no to one wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I am one of those few people, I've rarely desired a soft top other than an Elise/VX to be honest, and would rather have the Cayman than a Boxster if I was forced to choose.

As for the other Bangle-era cars, I like the 5, the Z4 has grown on me, and I've always liked its rear end, the X3 is still crap, the face lifted 7 is slightly better than the first, the 6 isn't pretty, but is a pretty interesting shape and the new 3 has yet change in my eyes, think it looks very clumsy.

I really liked it when they released the show car and i'm really pleased they've put it into production, i agree with AndyW also, if i was in the market to buy one i'd definately pay the premium over the soft top, it looks so much more complete and certainly can't be detrimental to the torsional rigidity and handling. As much as the drivers give the brand a bad name, i wouldn't hesitate to buy one if i was in the position to, they make good quality cars where a lot thought has gone in to making them as good as they can, with no obvious penny pinching.

i drove an m3 roadster, it bloomin' caned it, however the insides were *****! the steering wheel was massive and had horrible front windows with the black window seal for the electric windows! nasty! the sound was nice though and the coupe looks awesome

That the Z3 your on about Putney?

The Z4 interior is a vast improvement, simple, very nicely designed. I like the Boxsters, but the BMW trumps it for flair.

its called a M3 roadster not a Z3 M3 Roadster! i took a 3.0 Z4 for a test drive too, i really liked it. however couldn't say i really loved the look of it. some cars you look at and say wow thats really nice others you can't make you mind up!
