Emma
Some stupid ****er in a Mondeo, coming back from Cheshire Oaks on A41. I was driving along when he overtook a car on the other side of the road, I swerved to avoid and ended up crashing into some badly placed trees. Car is a total `write-off`. Just because of some old stupid guy who can't see properly.
KidDub
Sorry to hear about the car honey hope you are ok is the car a total loss or can they repair it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
Emma
It's a total wreck, I can't even look at it, it makes me want to cry (ok I have cried...I admit it). I may bury it somewhere with a tree for it's memory. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
BReal
oh sh*t style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> as long as you are ok is the main thing - did you have any airbags go off ?
EssexLoop
Sad to hear that Emma, glad your ok though thats the main thing
Emma
Oddly no, which has been a mystery to everyone. I'll be on one of those survival shows on tv "My car hit a tree, the airbag didn't work but I escaped with three bruises!"

female_london
Interesting that your airbags didn't go off because mine didn't either when i had my accident....but wondering whether they should have done of not, i'll post a pic of the damage of my car and do you lot think the bags should have gone off?? border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
Andy_Would like a Lupo Gt
How fast was your accident female_london?It all depends on speed, apparently at low speeds (under 20 or so) air bags do more harm than good.
female_london
Was going at 30mph that's why i wondered really.
Andy_Would like a Lupo Gt
Suppose it depends on the car and the nature of accident but the copper who attended my accident said that cos mine was a low speed accident its normal for the air bag not to go off. Having an accident can really put you off driving...

gargoil
Sorry to hear about this!I was in a similar accident a year and a half ago and everyone advised me to either hire a car or get a loan of a car within a few days so a long period of time didn't go past where I wasn't driving! Really helped!Hope u r ok!
Crusoe
Gutted for you emma, at least your okay though which is the main thing.Interested to know if the mondeo guy got stopped and if you are going to be able to claim against his insurance.Airbags should go off in impacts over 19mph but there is also deceleration measurement so if you were slowing down gradually ratehr than in a head on against a wall type stop itey might not go off, maybe bushes and kerbs slowwed you down a bit before you hit the tree. Emma
The guy did stop so no problems with insurance, just takes ages to sort everything out.I was in hospital on Sunday night/Monday morning
