I have a 2005 GTI Japanese Import, and after a winter in the garage I have started to get a check engine light reading codes P0010 Camshaft Position Actuator, and P0045 Evap Purge Valve Shorted. I am using a cheap Amazon scanner and think these codes are being iterpreted incorrectly, aspecially as we're naturally aspirated. The car drives fine with the light on, and if I clear the codes the car is fine, until I hit reverse and the light comes on again. I have replaced the battery and the problem persists, so this leads me to believe it is a wiring/voltage/grounding instability issue. I want to check the gearbox earth strap first as this seems most likely culprit, but I cannot for the life of me seem to locate the earth strap/connector. Can anyone tell (or show) me where on the gearbox it locates, and where it attaches to the chassis? TIA! Dan 🙂 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
