How to Disconnect cables from connector

Recommended Posts

Hi, I really need help with this, its been 4 days since I started this work. I needed to change the left grommet in the boot  of the car since the last owner decided to cut it and leave the cables without cover. I already disconnected all the connector in the door, took out the cables and now i need to let it al through the new grommet but there are these two connector that are too big so I need to disconnect them and reattach them later... I tried with this tool I ordered from amazon, with pliers, screwdriver... nothing I can't disconnect these cables. Can anyone help me if you ever done this before? Thank you so much in advance. I'll attach all the photos so you can understand better what I mean

The "pins" go into the plug cluster from the back. There are two spring barbs that lock each one in place. You need to bend both of them flat then you can pull them out by pulling the wire. A microscope will help!

The other side... You can see the two cut outs at the plug side, next to each pin. You can buy new pins online. See if you can find a pic of them for sale. That might help. They are tricky to remove.
