Wire four speakers on the radio reciver

So the glue started failing since the car was exposed on the outdoor elements and aging perhaps. And so i discovered that I can put two more speakers in the back of the car because the panel covering the metal unglued itself:

Is there some quick solution where I could wire the two additional speakers I have?

I bough new ones which give better sound quality, but the ones in the front the car came with, I still keep them.

Or this would be a job more for an electrician?

A 12 volt serial connection of the two wires? But where would the extension wires go to reach the back speakers?

Is there a floor channel/tunnel (not sure how do I call it) in the metal frame of the car?

But how are the back stop lights wired?

I have seen only one regular lupo with rear speakers from factory, rare option, they also have special covers. There are several ways to wire rear speakers, I prefer lifting removing the rear seat and wiring through center of car, it will take about 20 minutes to get wires from radio to both rear sides. You can wire four not two additional speakers there – two tweaters and two 165mm.

Ooo interesting!! So if I understand correctly, without anything additional like amplifier, I can plug my two leftover 165mm speakers directly to the radio?

Would it be parallel, or serial connection?

Or the radio receiver has separate connections for those additional four speakers?

Yes, no need for amplifyer if you use regular speakers. You will need crossovers for 165mm+tweater setup, but they are usually included if you buy new setup.

Seperate connections for rear speakers, aftermarket units often have 4x50W output power. Check out ISO, or what ever other radio unit wiring You have, diagram. Then you will also be able to adjust fader and balance properly.

I asked about the wire. Dude at the electronics shop told me, i need 5 meters cable to connect the radio to the back of the car for one side. Is there some picture how is the wire going trough the car?

If i need 5 meters cable, its circling somehow. Some ideas from where to where?

Or it comes down to uninstalling the back sits and couple of other things?

You need 5 meters of 2 wire cable because it is going from both sides to radio unit, two long cables.

you can wire it as I sketched in these blueprints, 1st picture is the original way, 2nd way is the easy way.

Do I need to uninstall both front and back seats to put the cable under the carpet?

Or I could use metal clips to keep the cable stuck to the floor?

No, just uninstall rear seat base. If you want to install wires original way you will need to remove front seat too.

No need to use metal clips. If you will install the cables at the middle of the car, once You will remove center console You will notice that You only need to put the wires under carpet for 20cm, then you will get them near handbrake and then along shifter to the dashboard.

This video is actually great DIY video how to install Audi A3 8L and Golf Mk4 (two door versions) seats in Lupo.

Can't see a video link. Should it be a YouTube video?

Are these two jacks for the back side speakers? Left and right? What about that W/R, what is its purpose?

You will need amplifyer to use those jacks, those are for amplifyer only. W/R is for remote, it is usually lost if you buy second hand unit, but you can buy another one.

Lupo use ISO radio connector, you need to wire speakers to it. B1 and B2 (green wires in picture) for right, B7 and B8 for left (purple wires in picture), only front wires are used for now for your Lupo. The easyest way is to connect these wires is to get a spare ISO connector and solder them to the connector. Installing missing connectors is littlebit advanced, but there are a lot of DIY videos on youtube how to do that too.

It is the same video You posted about removing front seats, the only modification needed to install Golf Mk4 and Audi A3 2 door seats in Lupo is grinding off the edge of rear mount of front seats, 8:16 at the video. Those seats are way better than regular Lupo seats. You can also try to find Golf Mk4 R32 seats, but they are very rare.

I think previous owner already installed Golf seats. I know because when i put cloth covers over them, the person making the covers told me, they are Golf seats, which is good.

Hmm, if there are separate wires for back speakers, why its not plug and play. Why i need to solders wires... :P  nvm

The ISO socket on Your Lupo has missing pins for rear speakers for now. They actually are plug and play if you can get missing ISO connector pins and push them in ISO socket. |You can also try to remove spare pins from another ISO connector, there is special tool for pin removal.

This is the wire that goes into the ISO harness for the loud speakers. You can buy these from VW

That is actually very cool, but 000979113E costs 15,00 euro, for a single wire, might be worth for some purist, but most likely  @VlatcheLupo   is looking for cheaper option 😅

I just thought it might help to know what the connector looks like

Say i have spare pins and I put them in the ISO connector so that the wires get electricity.

If I understood correctly, the 5 meter long cables/wires should go from the ISO connector trough the central panel (handbrake) below the plastic cover as per this video?

Looks complicated to uninstall it and then bring it back again.

Yes, two 2.5 m long speaker cables, then connect them to four pins in the correct order.

That is the central panel – very easy to remove. The first time it took me only 10 minutes. It is held in place by two 10 mm plastic nuts under the shifter boot and a single clip behind the handbrake.

Too few? Definitely! Thats why you need to install 4 more 😂

This whole conversation for missing wires :D

Can I solder additional 4 wires to existing just to get electricity?

Or maybe the 5 meter long wires, solder them to the existing wires just before going into the doors and door speakers?

Fuuuu!!! :D

You’re free to do as you like, but connecting the rear speaker wires to the front speaker output is a very bad idea — most likely your Lupo will end up sounding worse than before.

Everything else has already been covered in this thread. Getting a spare ISO connector is not a problem — the shop where you buy audio wires will most likely have some available.

Basically get some wires with these ends on them, plug them into the connector where you don't have wires and connect the rear speakers to the ends of these wires.

Just wanted to share my achievement. Managed to plug the two additional speakers in the back of the car, i.e left and right in the metal frame under the back windows of the car.

Now its awesome, i have full surround sound in the car :P :D

Didn't use the iso connector because it was hard to remove the one that was already in the car. But used the naked wires just without the rubber around.

Used staples gun to keep the wires in place.

IMG_20251123_152822.thumb.jpg.ef2343f498514787557a2a58ebd322cb.jpg

Its a bit ugly but it does the job. Used two 10 millimetres and one 8 millimetres screws to hold the cardboard panel in place, although above the speaker.

Still have the two plastic covers that came with the new speakers i bought. I can't put those at the moment in the car, but maybe i will find a solution for those too.
