Oil Service Warning Already On After 4 Months Since Oil Change?

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Just wanted to see if someone would be able to assist with my query. After starting my lupo up today, I am met with an Oil Service Warning, despite changing the oil in January of this year.

I think I read somewhere that these engines are to be serviced more regularly than average (I have the 1.4 16v 75hp) but this just seems a bit uncanny.

Anyone had this with theirs? Is it normal? And does the oil actually need to be changed that frequently or is it just a bad sensor?

I shall await your response :)

Thanks!

-Adam.

Thanks for this mate, but just wanted to know if there was a reason why it come on?

The only reason that warning appears is the km (miles) since the last reset. This car does not have sensors that measure oil quality/quantity or anything else that would cause that warning to appear.

I see what you're saying :)

I'll reset the trip and clear the warning, see how we go.

Thank you both!
