Dixie_3500
My Lupo 3L 2002, suddently stopped while driving. The starter will now only turn in "N" not in parked?? In "N" the engine starts briefly and then dyies out. Removed fuel hoses at filter in engine bay. No fuel at filter with ignition on?? Checked tank armature beneath bag-seat. It vas onlu fitted with tank gauge sender, not a fuel pump, and only two (opposed to four) cables enter the tank armature?? Where is the fuel pump then fitted?? Is some switch damaged as it will not turn starter in "P"?? Hope that someone can help me?? Kind regards Ole
mk2
I know very little about the 3L. We don't have them in the UK. I think there is a sensor on the clutch/gear shift selector mechanism. It might need checking. There is also a sensor to measure the clutch travel distance. It might need recalibration? Otherwise, ask the Lupo people on the German Lupo club... we used to have an expert on 3L here, but he sold it. @RAB He might still check his emails/private messages. if you find the solution please tell us! And welcome to Club Lupo 👍🏻

Kind regards Ole Most likely, starting is inhibited because there is a fault with transmission hydraulics. Have you checked the transmission oil level. Does the accumulator need replacement - it loses nitrogen over time? VCDS will tell you where the problem is once you have sufficient oil and a good accumulator. Don't try to run a 3L without VCDS! Be pro-active with 3L maintenance otherwise it will become a very expensive hobby! We still have a 3L and it will be for sale soon!
