For sale is my beloved J Reg 1991 VW Golf MK2 1.6 Auto Driver in Grey on 122k miles.

A great car which has had a fair bit of work done too it since I bought it back in August 2019, It would make an awesome fun daily driver, however I only use it on the weekends for a bit of fun.

The car runs great - is fun to drive, and has been incredibly reliable. I love this car, however I have to sell it due to moving abroad.

Car comes with 2 sets of original keys and alarm fobs which is very rare nowadays. A folder with a lot of paperwork from previous owners.

Porsche 986 16” wheels

- 6J Front ET50 - Dunlop Sport 9000 195/40ZR16

- 7J Rear ET40 - Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ 215/40R16

Wider tyres so that I can have fun driving and not worry about any issues of running stretched tyres. All 4 still have tonnes of tread left.

Cobra Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm System (A4138-FP) x2 Fobs (Fitted by Oxford Car Audio)
JVC Headunit with AUX and USB port

Aftermarket ‘Omp’ Steering wheel and boss

Interior in extremely good condition for its age, apart from a few light stains on drivers seat.

Recent work carried out since March 22:

-Seals have been welded up and resealed.

-Brand new handbrake cables x2

-Brand new wiper blades

-Brand new front top mounts

-Brand new steering rack boot (and a spare)

-Brand new boot struts x2

-Cleaned and serviced Coilovers
-Few Patches of rust removed and repainted.

-Door / Badge decals

-New front VW Badge

-Car serviced

I will be as honest as possible and mention that there is a few little problems, As it isn’t an immaculate ‘Show car’, but she could be one with a little TLC.

- Paint job and body work is very good for its age, does however have a few scratches from car park door dingers, and 2 small dents (nearside wing and offside rear door lower)

- Minimal rust in a few spots - Rear bumper / Boot

- Engine bay could do with a tidy up

Probably not as bad as I’m making out considering it’s age just trying to be honest.

The price of these is going up every year as they achieve cult classic status. So this is your chance to grab something special for a bargain price.

Serious buyers only, call or text to arrange viewing.

Preferred method of payment is bank transfer. Bargain price at £3250 ONO

Cheers

Nice. That would be already sold at that price if it was a manual.

5 stud conversion? Different.

And on a 'J'. One of the very last knockings...

I would guess they are running 4x100 to 5x120 convertors as these are Porsche alloys.

GLWS, nice and clean Mk2!

It needs the carb air preheater pipe (it's missing). Looks pretty much complete otherwise.

Shame, I don't need another mk2 project. I do have an idea though, but just no time at present. An Austrian Golf Country that a collector's trying to sell me. This car would be useful as they're on the exact same base and trim.
