lupo1.0se
Hi All So looking into the insurance at present. However on discussion with my current providor. They do not offer a vaulation service. They have said for the agreed value they require this. So it leads me to two options 1. contact another provider who offers this service (i do have a quote from another providor who offer this service) 2. find a vaulation service. On point 2. The company who i am currently insured with gave me a name but they said it was three years ago they last used them! So does anyone know in the London/South East area of someone who can value cars? At present option 1 seems the most viable at the moment.
mk2
Any car dealer can provide an official written valuation. Just go in and ask "how much would a written valuation be for my car?"... sometimes free, typically £20-£75. Useful if you want to make it worth more or less. Just ask them to say they think it's worth £5000 or £150 or whichever way you want to go. Bear in mind, if you ever have a total loss claim for an agreed value insurance policy, you'll need 3 different independent valuations, all ideally within the last 6 months. They can't argue with that. 👍🏻

Its finding the right one who specialises in these car or is fully aware of what the Lupo Gti is (i had a debate with someone about how different a lupo gti is compared to a standard lupo, they just did not get it). So ideally a classic car dealership? Food for though. Perhaps finding the right one? Edited January 21, 2022 by lupo1.0se

However they do not offer a vaulation service which started this thread (wanted to see an alternative if possible).
tigcraft
Take as many pics as you can inc grubby stuff and file it with your docs. If anything ever happens you just collect current advert prices and show them the market value. If they don’t agree then tell them to keep the money but replace the car and deliver one to your doorstep exactly like your photos described yours. That’ll make them realise

That’ll make them realise They would have fun with that for sure. So 2005 is the 2nd rarest in year to 2000. 2nd my car has a sunroof, from what i gather there is only 6 around (1 Red, 1 Black in Jersey i think, and 4 silver of which are all differing spec). With point 2 they would not do the agreed value unless i got valued. Hence why i started this thread. I ended up going option 1 in the end. The providor i was with gave me a name of someone they used 3 years ago......so it is likely they might not be around.
lupo1.0se
To update on the agreed value part. Option 1 turned out to be the easiest option by a long distance. Adrian Flux where happy to put the agreed value and what i wanted. Once i used there valuation service (for £15) they sent off several photos to hagerty and you can add information on what you spent on the car (eg paintwork etc, i did not include regular service stuff as that should be standard fare). and they came back with the same as the agreed value. Overall very happy about this.

It was advertised at 10k previously. Also no optional extras. The others that are for sale at the 10k mark are jap imports or a y reg with 70k (neither worth what they are asking)
